I'm pretty new to this whole fancy knife thing, but I've got a pair of Buck cross-lock 'river rafter' folders (with sheeps foot serrated blade), one of which I have with me nearly constantly. I love the way it fits my hand, the solid feel, the one-hand open and close and the very solid lock. It rides nicely in my back pocket, too. The blade works great for most of the 'utility' chores I seem to need it for. I don't like that it's nearly impossible to sharpen the serrations (although it keeps an edge well enough that's really only beginning to be an issue), and that Buck doesn't seem to make them anymore.
I've managed to wade through this entire thread, and didn't notice a single serrated knife listed (although I hardly recognize most of them by name and model number, so I certainly could have missed some). I assume there's some good reason for that, which I imagine I'll run across in some other thread (maybe the 'nearly impossible to sharpen' thing?). I've got my eye on a Sebenza - probably a plain large - as an upgrade, and noticed they seem to be pretty popular here. I'd sure hate to lose one, though.
great thread - Carry on!
