What's the best knife shop in Boston?

Knife shops in Bostons...eh, not a great subject. Stoddard's is pretty much dead and gone in my mind compared to what they once were. I don't think they even have a location in Boston proper anymore. I don't know if there's one in Quincy Market these days. Even if there were you'd be paying full boat retail. Honestly, if you need a knife right there in town the easiest thing might be to stop by Target or a sporting goods chain and grab an SAK.

If you want to drive north and hit the Kittery Trading Post that's another story....

If you have a car, I've heard good things about sawyers cutlery in hanover. It's about a half hour drive. Their website is terrible but as of last year they had a good selection at fair prices.

Kittery Trading post is great.
My only other suggestion is find a sporting goods store, Or something like that. I live in MA, and there arent many places around here.
I havent been to Sawyers, but ive heard good things :)

Sawyers has a decent selection. They have much more then what is on the shelf, if you ask they may have it in the back. The people that work there are pretty friendly prices are higher then the Internet but sometimes it's worth it to be able to handle the knife before you buy.
