Whats the best knife value for under $70 ??

I'm a big fan of the Delica and Mini Grip.

For $70, you could buy a Boker Trance < $30 + Kabar Dozier <= $20 + Vic Fieldmaster $22.

Also good bang for the buck knives..
Kershaw RAM, OD-1
Kabar Mule

I like all of the ones you all mentioned. They are truly great knives. On a traditional line I wonder what ever happened to the Henckel pocket knives. You can find a few around on ebay and some web sites but I always thought those were really good knives. I own a couple of the 3 bladed stockmans.

Kershaw OD-1 like gazz98 mentioned. You can take a look at them at the local Wal-Mart.

Compared them to Benchmade Grip's at the local bases and some $100+ knives and the fit/finish was better....much better sharpness out of the box, very fast opening without assisting mechanism, frame-lock, made in the U.S.A., etc.

My 2cents worth would say either Spyderco's Tenacious or Kershaws JYD series, JYD II or CB. THe JYD series are just great knives and fun to play with. You can read many reviews of the Tenacious, great knife! I don't think you could go wrong with any of these. Also maybe the new Mini Tenacious just released, blade size under 3".

As a few people have already mentioned, the Kershaw JYDII CB is awesome!

Or if you want something a bit smaller, check out the Kershaw RAM. Get Philip to make you some wood scales, and you can have a really cool mix of modern and traditional :

I love the G-10 Leek in S30V as well as the Lahar...again, tons of options at that price point. I'd also look at the BM 530 Pardue.

Add $10 and you have the Manix 2, which is an incredible value.

Endura, Delica, Pacific Salt, Salt I, Tenacious, Cent 3/4. Some great (can't think off the top of my head) Kershaw models in that range too.

2 come to mind right off the top of my head - Spyderco Tenacious and Buck Vantage Pro.

The Tenacious is an awesome deal. For $30 you get decent steel, G-10 scales, 4-position clip, phosphor bronze bushings for smooth/fast opening, stainless steel liners w/ solid liner lock and the fit and finish of substantially more expensive knives.

The Buck Vantage Pro for $46-48 is also a hell of a deal. Maybe even more so. You get S30V blade steel, 3-D machined G-10 scales over stainless steel liners w/ a strong liner lock and one of the best deep-carry clip designs around. It also has great fit and finish and smooth action.

These 2 are my picks for "high-value" or "bang-for-your-buck" knives.

I own both the Tenacious and Vantage Pro. IMO these are great knives. The Tenacious was in my pocket more than any other knife (including my D2 mini griptilian) until the Vantage Pro arrived. The Vantage Pro is now my favorite knife.

For me the best Bang for your buck is the Buck Vantage Pro with s30v. Paid $46 shipped. Also a equally good choice is the Kershaw Blur s30v. Paid $44 shipped. I also love my composite blade Leek with cpm d2. Paid about $45 I think. Looks like $45 is my sweet spot.:D

I say for under $70.00 there are several Kershaw models that are great EDC. If you want an old fashion pocket knife I would go with a Great Eastern that can be had for that price.

$70+$10= Manix 2.

Other than that..

Spyderco Endura
Spyderco Tenacious
Buck Vantage Pro

Does it have to be a folder? If not..

RAT Cutlery Izula (small STRONG fixed blade) will vanish in your jeans pocket, or worn on your belt under a shirt.

Please post a question in only one forum. This is the second time I've seen it tonight.

I recommend the Buck Vantage Pro. It has Paul Bos s30v, g10 for $40 & it's made in the USA. None of these other knives can match it's value.

Based on my personal experience and the experience of my friends and colleagues, if you are looking for a good folder that can take a lot of abuse and costs no more than $70, I would recommend the following knives:
Spyderco: Delica, Endura, Tenacious
Benchmade: Presidio Ultra, Mini Presidio Ultra, Griptilian, Mini Griptilian, Vex, Monochrome
CRKT: M4, M13, M21 (I prefer the ones with aluminum handles)
Böker: M-Type, Hyper, Trance

I like all of the ones you all mentioned. They are truly great knives. On a traditional line I wonder what ever happened to the Henckel pocket knives. You can find a few around on ebay and some web sites but I always thought those were really good knives. I own a couple of the 3 bladed stockmans.

Unfortunately Henckels stopped marketing pocket knives. But most of the recent production knives were made by Boker. I was lucky to find a four blade stockman a few years ago before they were discontinued.

They turn up on Ebay...

The Henckels lockbacks look identical to the Boker branded versions.
