Whats the best on-line knife site?

I have to give the highest marks to newgraham.com. I've bought about a dozen knives from them and they shipped same day on all of them. They also answer email questions very promptly -- sometimes within minutes. They are very friendly and helpful over the phone. Their prices are really good too. Lastly, they will notify you when they get something in that you've been looking for. :)

I only have one experience with knivesplus.com, and it was great. They also answered email quickly, and shipped same day.

I've bought a few knives from knifeworks and they are very good also.

It must be Monday... my brain is not entirely in gear. My first thought was "what an odd combination of things to specialize in... brick and mortar, plus knives" . Not to mention the shipping costs of ordering brick an mortar online!
:)

Time for me to have another caffeine dose... levels are becoming subtherapeutic!

It's OK, the first time I heard the phrase "brick and mortar" I thought the same thing. Seriously, if you are ever passing through Amarillo, this is a must stop place. Besides a good selection of knives the owner has some great stories to tell.

Wow thanks for all the input on those great sites.
I did get a lot of responses to my inquiries about shipping by mail to Canada, most won't even ship to Canada ie:Knivesplus, some will ship but only by UPS..which hits me with brokerage charges making the cost of buying too high.
I did receive a great email from Bill Horn of www.cumberlandknifeworks.com, and he said that he can ship by U.S.P.S and would be glad to take my order!
As Bill said in his email.......I'm off to the races.
I think I will be buying the following Case Knives,
Large Stockman yellow handle CV blades
Medium Stockman yellow handle CV blades
Muskrat G10 Orange handle
Seahorse Whittler in Jade

Now I can't wait until he lists the new candy cane series

Thanks again,
Kap :)

Hello George, I wonder if you could tell me which dealers where able to ship by U.S.P.S. and not UPS.
Also how di you go about this with them?
Any help would be appreciated
How do I find True North Knives?
Do they have a web site, I googled but came up empty
Thanks,

I have had stellar experiences from the following online dealers:

One stop knife shop - www.1sks.com
TAD gear - www.tadgear.com
New Graham Knives - www.newgraham.com
Bladeart - www.bladeart.com
Arizona Custom Knives - www.arizonacustomknives.com

Each of these dealers had great selection and were also very flexible in shipping to Canada.

I have found that the greatest hidden cost in purchasing a knife from an on-line dealer in the States is that most of them automatically ship UPS to Canada, which gets real expensive for us because UPS cahrges a 52.00 brokerage fee everytime to clear your package through Canada Customs.

I request that dealers send my my packages through the US Post, registered.

Of course, if you buy from True North Knives in Canada, then this situation is avoided. Neil Ostroff is a great guy to do business with. Damn straight , eh.
