What's the difference?

Your the second person I've seen ask in the last couple of weeks.
Besides the wise answer of a "0" I'll pull them out of the case and give a better write up tonight.

The "0" was all I could see unless they are a different length. As far as I can tell, they look like the same design. I have a 5UH and a 55UH and the seem the same except lockback vs liner lock. Didn't notice the 50UH was another one.
 
Took them out of the case and dis a few scans.
Other than the size of the 50UH's nail nick being larger than the 5UH.
They are exactly the same. And the 55UH is the same with a liner lock and no LB.

Geez, it looks like they even came out of the same delrin mold. Thanks Larry, the ZERO seems like the biggest difference.
 
OK, not a bunch but...

The nail nicks are different, and I would say the blade shapes are a little different, particularly at the tip.

Couldn't the nail nick, just be a different production run, maybe a change from one year to another, and not meant to be a different blade?
 
Sure could.
But, we were looking for differences in the two different model numbers, and that was one Larry mentioned, and it seemed to be a visible difference.

It could be something completely different than what I see.

The blade on the bottom knife is definitely shaped a little differently at the tip.
 
Different in areas marked in red on edge of tang as well. Thanks for posting pics, everyone enjoys picking out subtle differences.

One more question from someone who knows nothing about this.
Was the 5uh and the 50uh made during the same time period?
Or was one made, then the other made at a later date, and maybe the model number changed to designate the newer model?
 
Another small difference is the thickness of the back of the blade. On the 50UH it is visably a bit thicker. I have not seen any printed info on the 50UH but will continue to look.

It might just be the distortion caused by the camera, but the heel of the handle behind the lock relaease looks slightly steeper on the top one, too
 
The lock release notch on the 50 looks slightly larger.
