What's the ettiquette on Cross-Posting questions?

I've got several questions coming up, but some apply to more than 1 subforum.

Do I repost it in each relevant forum?
Or post in 1 "main" subforum, and link to it in other related forums?

I'd like to get the widest possible responses, instead of resubmitting the same question at a later date if I was unsatisfied with initial answers.
I did read the FAQs.
