What's the longest you have worn your pack before irritations?

The last 2 days here at Disney I've been using a pack to haul the families crap around :) roughly 2 8hr days in a row. I haven't been using a waste belt and only have slight irritating feeling on one shoulder. No neck or shoulder pain just rubbing I'm guessing.

What was the timeframe any of you have with pack on before slight discomfort sets in. Pack I'm wearing has about 15lbs of stuff in it. I really don't think that's too bad considering the time length I've had it on.

With my Operator, the shoulder straps are 4 inches wide, and since the frame system is so completely customizeable, when I purchased it I set it up right. After maybe mile 5 of mountainous terrain, I'll find a stump to rest the pack on while I hydrate and adjust-might tighten or loosen the shoulder straps and kidney pad a wee bit to shift my weight more to my shoulders or more to my hips. Never get any rubbing irritation though... The ALICE pack is much different...

My backpack never really caused irritation. Yeah, it was heavy when crammed full of stuff, but uncomfortable as far as straps? Nope. The pack is an old-school Camp Trails Omega with really nice waist straps, shoulder straps, and sternum straps - each of which had multiple adjustment options, giving the pack a practically infinite number of settings. Longest hike was 80 miles in a week with 65lbs of gear.

The daypack straps aren't as padded, but I don't/can't cram as much into it either. Can't think of the model offhand, but I'm pretty sure it's a Gregory, again with waist and sternum straps.

Used to carry a falcon II around for a while, never had an issue with it, on to a better home now, but it was a nice day pack.

Before I got married I the longest I wore a pack was 3 months without irritation. Now, it is sometimes hard to even shoulder it and get out the door before the irritation starts! (Just kidding about the irritation, I love being married).
