Whats the matter with my Evenheat oven?

Good find, Howie! Looks like there's at least some stuff to try in there before declaring a broken controller! Hope it helps, Hank...

Guess it wasn't a SetPro after all, Rob...... ;)

Howie,

Where in the world did you find that? Anyway, thanks so much. I went ahead and threw my blades in there and hit it at 1900 for 30 minutes and pulled a 63 Rockwell. I guess I lucked out for now. I am now tempering and will try the info contained in that document after my first temp. run.

Fingers crossed! Will let you know what happens.

Mike,
'preciate all your help as well!

Hank, for what little I was able to offer, you are most welcome. I hope a "reset" fixes it. :)

All hail to Howie and Mike...just butter my butt and call me a biscuit, the dang reset attempt worked!

I did as the instructions said (holding down the "select" key and then turning on the switch) to reset the parameters and everything is OK now. The only question I have is why in the wide world of sports was this little trick NOT in the owners manual, nor was it on the Evenheat website in some form of an addendum or update??? I never saw it.

Not to preach, but folks like y'all are why this forum works! This little problem was a tough nut to crack but y'all came through for me...and I sincerely appreciate it. I'll be sure to include both of you in my will. Now, lets get on with the New Year's celebration.

Glad you got it fixed...pretty neat Howie finding that!

Have yourself a Happy New Year!:)

I searched for CIC Perfect Fire, got the thread that mentioned it, found another link in there, then went to the site, and it was all there.
There are a bunch of controller and kiln info on the BPQ site.
Glad I could help.
Happy New Year to you guys!
