whats the most annoying thing about spyderco?

Very few lefty friendly models in the higher end. Like most manufacturers, the website is months behind any decent retailer's. I would think a manufacturer would be the first to showcase their products on their own website. Victorinox is another major website offender. Other than that, the biggest problem is that there's too many models that I want!

I love Spyderco knives but I would love some of them alot more if they had handles that weren't smooth and shiny stainless. I mean gritty matte stainless wouldn't be thatmuch more complicated would it?

I took the sandblaster to my stainless Police years ago. I just masked off the blade and sandblasted the handle. It turned out dark grey matte with a really nice tactile non-slip finish. I think bead blasting would give it an even nicer finish. That might be something that Sal could offer as another option. I used to get lots of good comments on it. I wore it so much that some parts have actually gotten shiny smooth again. It needs another blasting treatment after 15 years in my pocket. ;)

Would you mind commenting more on the Military and Sebenza. If I remember right, you have been a big fan of the Military as long as I can recall.
How does the Military rival the Sebenza in your opinion?
In my experience with the Military and Sebenza, the main advantage to the Military is the edge geometry cutting so much better. It is also easier to sharpen. Plus I could buy 3 and a half militarys for the price of one Sebenza.
I wish Spyderco made more knives in Golden(those are the only ones I buy) and I wish they used more g10 on other models. It is sure hard to find anything to complain about when it comes to Spydercos.

Annoying: Spyderco's use of an unadjustable riveted pivot on it's FRN models instead of an adjustable screw pivot.

The most annoying thing about spyderco is that they now insist on using the horrible VG-10 steel for a majority of their knives.I had a delica 50/50 w/vg-10 ,and I could not put a decent edge on it.Even using a professional diamond gatco sharpening system. I once took it fresh off the sharpening system, went in my backyard and cut a few weeds and picker bushes with it and it got dull just from that(not that it was that sharp in the first place)Maybe I just got a bad blade, but my older model spyderco with AUS8-A blade performed a heck of a lot better. Other than that, I've loved every spyderco knife that I have owned.

I'll be the first to say it: If that's the worst thing Spyderco ever has to worry about, we should all be ecstatic!

The most annoying thing about them is they're so damn addictive! :D

Hi Suedeface. I must say that yours is the first compaint we've ever had on VG-10 edge retention. You may want to send it in?

I was taught not to complain without offering a solution.

1. Keep the spyderco website up-to-date and easy to navigate.

2. Give us more early "peeks" at the prototypes and new models. Anticipation makes it more fun.

No ball lock (or Axis-inspired lock) on the Military for us Leftys.
No four-way clip mount option on most models.
