What's the most popular Spyderco? Asked by someone that never owned one.

At first glance, I never really liked that 'humpback' design that Spyderco is famous for, but it's starting to grow on me. I'm not a fan of large folders but what is the 'classic' of the Spyderco line and/or the most popular? I'm liking the looks of the Blue Lava that was posted in a nearby thread.

I've just started making fixed blade knifes but I'm looking for an EDC folder that I could still carry covertly at the office. I've got a couple of little Kershaws but I'm looking for a change of pace.

Probably the Military, Paramilitary, Delica, and Endura, not in that order. Buy whichever one looks best to you and is in your size and price range and you'll be all set.

Hmmm not sure about the most classic or most popular, but my personal faves for smaller spydercos with toned down humpbacks include the native 5 and caly 3.5.

I would think the most popular models are the ones that seem to never be in stock anywhere. For a while now, the PM2 and Native 5 seem to rarely be in stock at most places.

The dragonfly has been around for a while and most people really like them. It also fits your smaller, understated look that you want.

I have an ambitious.. like it for a smaller size but nothing compares too the para2, its incredibly light

Over the history of Spyderco, I would suggest the Delica. At this moment I think it would be the Para2. Just my guesses.

I would have to say the Para 2. Theres been a lot of interest in it the last couple of years.

I also think the Delica. In my opinion, it's the archetypal Spyderco. Simple but iconic, sweet spot in terms of size (at least for me,) and a variety of colors and materials, etc.

Popular now would probably be the ParaMilitary 2. Iconic/classic would probably be the dynamic duo of Endura and Delica first conceived about 25 years ago but continuously refined ever since. The Military is also a worthy mainstay and my favorite of these four but it's big. Smallest would be the Delica and it comes in a large variety of colors, blades (VG-10, ZDP-189 and even Damascus) and handles (FRN, SS).

The endura/delica and police lines have been around for a very long time. My money is on them. The native series used to be sold at wall-mart at a low price as well so that will also have sold well too.

Recently on the forums among enthusiasts it will be the Para-military 2. Followed by the military, gayle bradley, southard, and caly series.

The Para 2 is what came to my mind first and it's certainly very popular right now, but over the years the Police model has probably gotten the most attention (enough to keep it on the production roster for 30 years), though in actual purchase numbers I have to assume the Delica with its more modest size and price would be at or near the top.

Then we have the Salt models, which I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually overtake all other models given that the idea of a rust proof knife is pretty fantastic.

Depends on how you judge "most popular".

The all stainless Police has been in the lineup and virtually unchanged since 1984, longer than any other model.

The Delica and Endura have been top sellers for most of their 20+ year history.

The Tenacious and it's siblings the Ambitious, Persistence, and Resilience are a high volume entry level models.

The ParaMilitary is the current darling of the "afi" community.
