Most of the times, people say that Spyderco knives look weird. I used to be one of them until i bought my first knife, either the delica or endura wave. And it didn't take long before Spyderco knives started to look great to me. Just like all other Spyderco users, i'm always trying to convince others to use a Spyderco knives. Throughout my 'journey', i have received many other ridiculous comments from non Spyderco users. However, after much persuasion these people usually decide to buy an ambitious or tenacious and they like it alot.

Recently, i brought my FFG delica to a local gear shop to sell it. One of the staffs over there then took my delica to inspect it (i got no idea why), and he said something so ridiculous that it made me angry (again, i got no idea why).

He said, ''hey, this knife is a defect! look at the tip, it's tilted downwards in an awkward angle.''
So i replied calmly, ''It's made in Japan, and ALL delica FFG have similar tip. Plus it's a Spyderco knife. It's intentional, not a defect.''

Still, he wasn't convinced and still believe that the maker in Japan made a blunder when grinding the blade. Now, that's one ridiculous comment.

The most ridiculous thing I've heard is this, " Spydercos cost too much!"

A vendor at a gun show I wanted to trade with told me my Mule and Manix 2 was fake because he couldn't find it in his 10yr old dealer catalog.

"The hole ruins a perfectly good blade, and all their knives have holes in them."

Really? Have you tried it? There's a good reason the thumbhole is often copied.

The most ridiculous things I've heard is that the Endura and Delica are the best knives out there and VG10 is so great. Personally I don't care for them but I love my Tenacious. On the hole in blade I'm trying to figure out what purpose it serves on the fixed bladed knives.

The hole on the fixed blades has no purpose, but it is there because it's Spyderco's trademark. Great that the tenacious works well for you. :)

The Tenaciuos has been a workhorse knife for me. It's one of my most carried knives. I also love my Pacific Salt with the H1 steel. I've had one now for a few years and I have put through its paces as my carry knife when I'm fishing and it's still going strong. There are just certain Spyderco knives that I don't like but I love the ones I own.

I've always thought the "reinforced" tip on the D4/E4 looked like an amateur regrind of a broken tip. I can't fault anyone else for thinking the same.

The most ridiculous comment I've heard (or more accurately, read) was "My only thought is that it's overpriced" from someone who didn't own and had never used the model in question.

I don't hear anything negative about Spyderco. I have a built in filter that takes out all forms of stupidity.

;)

The craziest thing I've read is when someone writes, "I don't like Spyderco knives, even though I've never used one".

A Guy at a local knife shop tried to tell me nobody liked spydercos because their designs were plain and all the same. I laughed because he only had an endura, delica, and police in his knife case.

The craziest thing I have ever heard is the UKBA (customs) say their confiscating a uk pen-knife as it can be flicked open with one hand so it must be a gravity knife. Seriously no bs.

After purchasing a couple knockoff spydies (and knowing they were knockoffs) then complaining how they wont get sharp, and the actions are "rough as a cob", this brainchild says this....And I can tell you now I'd never spend the coin for a real Spydy of this pattern:
WTF?

The shop keep at my local blade store doesn't stock many Spyderco's because he says they dont sell, but when they get them in stock, the sell like hotcakes!

"That Looks like a Knife Batman Would Carry!" in reference to my Black Blade, 50/50 SE Military.
