What's the most sentimental Becker you own ?

I brought my BK14 on my honeymoon to Costa Rica for two weeks of exploring. That was pretty special.

I boned out a really nice Elk with my BK15 last fall which was also special.

I won't part with either one of these knives just because I bonded with both of them pretty heavily.

BK2 - the knife I always wanted , but never quite found the right match for what I wanted, until coming across youtube video reviews as Beckers are very unknown in these parts. Then bam! I had to get it. A bit more checking reviews then Two days, or Tomars, later I have one ordered and sent to me!

Got this when i had only been a member of the forum for about a month. Close to 4 years ago. Ethan engraved his name into the blade and signed the box, then mailed the knife to me.

Lots of knives have came and gone since then, but this one isnt going anywhere.

I'm gonna say my 16 has the most sentimental value to me, my 14 is a close second but the 16 has seen me though being lost in the Adirondacks and a lot of other adventures over he last few years.

"What's the most sentimental Becker you own?"

All my Beckers are sentimental in one way or another, or at one time or another.

My first Becker, a beautiful BK9 that I bought somewhere around 2001/2002, actually cried when I polished her out:

But when I put a set of Sh@rp custom scales on 'er, she cried and spun on her tip in circles like a two week old puppy at feed-bag time.

Bein' that her Mamma was Ol' Lady Camillus, she's my only Becker who is sentimental about her original pants, so I've never changed 'em on this ol' gal.

Now, my favorite BK2 is sentimental in different ways. He's kind of a brutish ol' fella, and ya gotta get to know him before he'll show his tender, effusive side around ya's. He absolutely hated his original pants, so when I bought him some new ones, a simple, "Gee, thanks" was about as much sentiment as he was willing to show, but we were old friends by that time and he knew that I knew how choked up about it he really was....

But once I gave him a whole new life as a spit-polished soldier, and rounded out his sharp edges by convexin' 'em to perfection, it was like he was 2 years old again with tears and snot spewing out of every orifice as he tried unsuccessfully to choke back what he sees as his overly-feminine sentimentality....

Oops. I just remembered that he made me promise never to tell anyone about his being so sentimental. Oh well. Too late now.

My BK4, BK14 and BK21 all got pretty sappy when I showed 'em their new The 710 sheaths.

Like I said to start out with, all my Beckers are sentimental at one time or another, some in different sets of circumstances than others, but they're all cryin' for joy at the same time whenever I take 'em out to put 'em to work, because they all know that's what they were made for, and they all get the most emotional when they're serving the purpose for which they were born.

Good thread. I feel much closer to my Beckers than I did before I checked in here today, even though I'm really not the sentimental sort myself. LOL

(Note: I didn't have any pics that I took of my BK21 and its sheath, so I snagged one of JD's (710) from a picture thread because it happened to be exactly like the one I bought from him through the K-Bar website.)

I still have just four Beckers: 2, 7, 14 and my 24. The 9 is still on the horizon. Times are tight.

You have seen it before. My 24 is just a beautiful knife to me. I love it more the more it is used.

My most sentimental bk knife isn't mine. I bought it for my son, but I still have it. It's a still new in the box LE BK10. I still have all the bells and whistles with it. Never ever will anyone else but him, when he gets it, make its first cut.

that sh@rp guy needs to come back... i like his chit.

Definitely has to be my 9. She was my first Becker, and my first knife purchase. I have owned her for 6 years and has cut down dozens of trees and split hundreds of logs/limbs. Still very impressive every time I take it out. I can't seem to find much it won't cut.

Yeah, not only a great craftsman, but a heckuva guy to boot. I had a feeling that he really didn't get much (paying) support around here for what he had to offer. He said as much back in 2011 not long after I did a review of the scales pictured above. I did check his recent posting history though, and he had a couple posts on the site early this year, so he still checks in at least every now and again. He made a personal gift to me of the scales pictured above. I would like to reciprocate the kind gesture by being a paying customer, but if he's still making anything knife-related, I don't know where he's offering it or what he's offering. Maybe he'll overhear his name being mentioned and check in here to let us know. I like his chit too.

I know I paid for a set and he sent me two. Both were for the 14. It was just past my Birthday and he just said happy birthday. Really is a hellofa guy!!

Mine is my 15... went car camping up on the north shore of lake Superior this summer and though I left it behind. Never realized how much I loved that knife until I didn't have it anymore. Then I found it two months later under the front seat of my van...lol. Then everything was right in the world again.

Now that is a beautiful example of a well used niner!
