What's the oldest knife you own?

My oldest knife is a Buck 110 that I bought just after high school....1971...That doggone knife is in better shape than me!!!! hehehe not quite. I carried it all thru my motorcycle days...made plenty of camp meals with that trusted friend...
Oh forgot one ..the oldest in my collection is a small fruit knife from about the turn of the century..

I have a bolo type blade my father had given me,A old man had given it to him during the 1965 watts riots, the old man owned a little store that this jerk was robbing after he had stolen the money he tried to beat the old man to death,my father and his partner jumped out of there cop car and my father killed the attacker. The old man gave my dad this huge knife and could not stop thanking him,my dad refused the knife but the old man insisted on it saying it saved his life many times. Its intersting on the blade near the gaurd its stamped 1917 and on the wooden handle there are a total of 21 notches, the old man told my father thats how many people he had to use the knife on cause they ran out of ammo.
Thats my oldest knife.

Hi Featherstone,

Great story, your 1917 Bolo knife was a common military issue item during both WWI & WWII(the pattern was produce originally in 1910, and reissued in 1917:)). There very well thought of by big knife users.

:D:).

I have a hawkbill shaped folder (probably a pruning knife) that belonged to my grandfather.......certainly at least 75 years old. Have a bunch of his tools tool.

The oldest knife I have is a pearl handled Lobster Pattern with scissors a main spear point and a smaller spear point, with a fingernail file, and attached on the sides SAK style a toothpick on one side and get this a pair of tweezers with a built in earpick, I was told that this knife was probably mnfgd in the late 1800's.

My oldest is my trusty Spyderco C 29BK "Cricket" at 3yrs

My oldest is a two blade EZ-open jack knife made pre Civil War.

Manufactured by Waterville in St. Louis, it has East Indian Rosewood scales, nickle silver bolsters, liners and a federal shield.

The blades are spotless and full, and it still walks and talks.

FK

I've got a heavy Collins bolo machete that is Spanish American War vintage (1890's to about 1920). I've also got several WWI vintage trench knives (1917 model and Mark 1).

I have a Wakizashi, dated about 1725, and a French Artillery Gladius, made by Talbot-1835.

Not very old really, but here's my oldest:

At least it is 19th century but I don't have a year of manufacture. It is a Russell Barlow. The most interesting thing I can tell you is that I carry it occasionally and use it. Works fine.

A 1908 British Army Bayonet. As far as I can tell it is dated 1913 and made by Wilkinson Sword from high carbon steel. It still has the origional leather sheath as well.:)
