What's the one car, bike, truck, your dad, uncle, brother had that you really wanted?

I was always jealous of my big brother's first car. It was like the one in this picture, a Fiat Abarth Zagato, double bubble coupe. He got it when he was 15 years old and didn't get it running in time to drive it when he turned 16 and got his drivers license. He traded it even for a V.W. beetle, this would have been about 1974. restored ones sell for LOTS of money these days.

One of my dad's cars was a 1979 Buick Regal and I always wanted one because it looked like a "Gangster Car", but I grew out of that faze and now I like trucks more than cars.

1987 Buick grand national and a honda 2003 RC51. My R6 and gsxr 750 were better bikes but neither of them ever made the ground shake like thunder from a 10 foot circumference. My brother would take the grand national (he pulled the governor on it) and would burn Corvettes. Quarter mile times were high 13’s respectable for a stock v6 in those days.

The GSXRs were great, lots of fun, I had a guy storing 2 Grand Nationals in my barn for about 4 years, people who saw them in my barn always wanted to buy them, sometimes I'd pretend they were mine and tell them some ridiculous amount for sale. ;) I'm so lucky that one those people never pulled out the money.

1989 Corvette C4. Originally my Grandfather's, now my father's, maybe mine sometime in the future.

The funny thing was though that even though the grand nationals and gnx's were faster on paper. The regal t-types were more tuneable and lighter pop in some aftermarket turbos and you had a nice little sleeper in a daily driver. The interiors would get ragged after awhile but the sweet sound of that turbo pinning you back into your seat was always a joy.

Nothing as fun as bikes though. From track to street. The gsxrs from the early carbuerated 100 hp slingshots to my fuel injected 750 have always been wonderful machines. A little porky at that time compared to the 03 r6 which was very fun but cramped the 750s were just nasty little street beasts that gave you that little bit of extra oomph after cracking 125 where the 600s torque would trail off.

The rc51 was very fun under a 100. Not so much above though and it was a very fat bike. But Nicky Hayden did wonders on that ride

Did you ever take those gn's for a spin?
