Mine would be to get a file guide soon. It took me a year or so of fighting plunges before I did it. I use it on 90% of my plunge and the clean the ricasso up. After that I grind the rest without it. See, when grinding it use the plunge on the opposite side as a reference to the plunge on the side I'm grinding. The problem is if they aren't the same you will chase and chase and chase.... Get one soon. Mine was $75 and the best money I've spent yet.
