What's the quickest time you've cut yourself with a new Becker ?

I managed four hours from opening the box , it's wasn't a bad cut but enough to drip claret everywhere and get me heading to the sink. Not as bad as when I got a Buck 110 a few years ago , it took 30 seconds  I opened the blade and then closed it on my finger.

Ok guys....This is a BLADE forum, under BECKER blades subforum....the sharp part is the "shinny" one...!be carefull beckers tempt to be SHARP!!!!!!!!!!

I've taken some skin while wrapping a knife. And with my Beckers, that's it. I'm fairly good at not cutting myself. Something we should all be good at....

I cut some sandpaper with my 16 today, and afterward the edge felt more like a sphere. So I touched it up - 3 progressive grits on the WorkSharp. The edge was so polished, my daughter touched it and told me "that's not sharp." So I demonstrated how much hair it would fling from my arm (answer = A LOT). Went a little high, and took some skin off the base of my thumb. She was suitably impressed. I bought the knife used, so... 2 years? Or 3?

Actually, this happened while fabbing the scales when my 24 was about a week old:

So, that's probably my quickest.
I don't cut myself THAT much anymore.

Warning: Objects in box are sharper than they appear!

I have yet to be cut by any of my Beckers. My wife on the other hand, has had two bites from the 5. One so severe, she couldn't work for damn near two weeks.

I have a permanent reminder of my 17 from leaning across the bed and forgetting it was there was while drunk , is all I'm gonna say . I've also cut my knuckle down to the bone on a cold steel large voyager , fully serrated.

I cut my thumb with a Leatherman Wave while carving a Halloween pumpkin , need surgery to sort out the nerves, beer was also involved in that little incident.

I always stab a new Becker into the top of my thigh as soon as I get it, its good luck you should try it.

Drying off my 9, after rinsing the mustard off of it, (post patina), I managed to cut through 3 layers of kitchen towel and into my index finger.
Didn't quite bleed, but came darn close. That was about a week after I first got it...
Funny thing is, I did almost the exact same thing after putting a patina on my Mora. I used paper towels for that and cut the poop out of my finger. That's why I used cloth for the 9...I gotta be more careful :-)

Got a 15 for Christmas from my girlfriend, pulled it out of the sheath and handled it then stuck my finger too high up the choil, instant blood..... 8 seconds total from box to cut.

Cut the heck out of my thumb with my BK14 the day I got it. Was finishing the handle wrap, pulled to tighten and yanked the blade right out of the sheath and across the base of my thumb. Still have no feeling in that half of my thumb.

It was the 5th or 6th time I used my 16 in the kitchen. I was batoning large carrots into carrot sticks and nicked my thumb on the LAST slice.

Only when you draw blood you can call the knife yours ;)
I sure as hell hope not. I've not drawn blood with any of my Beckers. Oh, I've had a few knife accidents (and one really good stabbing with a jab saw) but nothing requiring stitches since I was 4 years old. It's simple, really: sharpened steel deserves your respect and attention. I know I'll have to eat my words some day....and so every time I pick up a tool or turn on the switch, I try to keep that in the forefront of my consciousness, and think "not today".

The very first Becker knife, a Machax proto, not even finished came back from a target and buried itself in my left calf....... Thirty seven effing stitches......... A lot of the joy and excitement of throwing sharp stuff left me at that point.......I still do it but I am a lot more cautious.......LOL.....
