What's the quickest time you've cut yourself with a new Becker ?

I've never been cut by a Becker, until I recently got another 16 from a contest. Opened it up, decided to strop it a bit on my hand, yet the 16 decided to strop itself inside of my hand. That was within 5 minutes of opening the box.

It was the 5th or 6th time I used my 16 in the kitchen. I was batoning large carrots into carrot sticks and nicked my thumb on the LAST slice.

That's awesome - will have to try that sometime. I can only imagine what my wife will say....

"No really honey, this is the BEST way to chop carrots....the guy on the BK&T sub forum said so....."

brilliant. I'm going to try this

The 16 works great for making carrot/celery sticks or slicing/dicing for a stew. Slice celery or baton carrots into sticks and then, if you need to dice'm, you can rock on the blade like a paper cutter. Just gotta keep the fingers tips put of the way.

My wife singed me up to cut foam board into "islands" for all of 2nd grade - 3 teachers; that's like 90 kids.
Luckily the 16 is up to it; I guess I'll find out about edge retention this week. Hoping not to post any new pictures of blood...

At least you know she knows who has good knives to cut that up. :D
It also might have been no other parent would volunteer because they have no SPOs at home. :(

I got my BK9 delivered as i was getting ready for work one day. My daughter was there, when i opened the box, I think the knife was in sheath but can't be sure, anyways the retaining strap was not snapped, it slid out & landed point first & stuck in the floor.........right between my big toe & the next one !!! We just stood there for a minute, looking at each other, in shock. Could have been much worse. It has been said that GOD looks out for children & fools......& i am 50 so ............................:D

My BK9 came out of the box want'n to cut sh** !!! :D

It's a good job you weren't sitting down and it landed in your lap

within 3 mins of unboxing my new 14, I was wrapping the handle in the sheath with some paracord and pulled tightly on the paracord, causing me to go to the ER and get 4 stitches, lol.

Join me, brother. We should start a club if you get a couple more like that!

I rarely cut myself with any blade. But today I got my thumb damn good.
Was resheathing my (no joke) RAZOR SHARP carbon steel Mora.
Wasn't paying enough attention missed the sheath.
Ran directly to the sink and then straight the ER for 5 stitches.
You know its time when the thumb meat is trying to escape.

Remember the stitches do not hurt. Its the DR swishing the lanocain filled needle all up in the wound.
I have good picture but I can't figure it out
