I'd say the smoothest is my BM556 mini grip. i can't hear anything at all (blade rubbing against washers) with my ear right up next to it while i'm opening it. there's practically no friction. i cant see how any knife could be smoother.

Yeah, I'll agree that my Benchmade mini grip is pretty darn smooth. Now also my Spyderco Sage 1 also fights for first. I think that the mini grip edges it out by just a little bit though. If I hold down the compression lock and let the blade swing free, then my Spyderco Paramilitary 2 Carbon Fiber S90V is the smoothest. The blade just swings back and forth freely, but there is ZERO blade play...thats smooth!

It's a tie between Mike Snody Hybrid and G&G Hawk T.O.A.D.

AXIS locks are smooth, but none of 'em even come close to those two I mentioned.

Cutter Knife And Tool Brend model 2 manual. I love opening that one. Buttery smooth and rock solid does not begin to describe it.

Well Sebenza. Am I really the first to mention that? My BM Presidio is very smooth too. Even my girlfriend who does her best to demonstrate an ignorance of all things bladed loves the feel of that one.

Ahem...I hope for your sake your significant other does not demonstrate an ignorance of all things blunt. ;)

Are those customs? If they are...then being completely fluid in blade motion is understandable and necessary.

To all you seb owners.....I am jealous. I don't own a Seb yet, so I cannot comment on its smoothness

Spyderco SuperLeaf (smoothest knife I have ever used) followed by the Jim Burke Pro Rockstar.

I've had the pleasure of handling both the Sebenza and the Umnumzaan and they're both buttery smooth!

My G&G RAZR is the smoothest with its sealed IKBS pivot followed closely by my Galyean Pro Series Turbulence (IKBS) and my RJ Martin Q-36s (roller thrust bearings).
