What's the smoothest folder you have ever felt?

All my bronze phosphors are the same since i polish the hell out of the washers and the liners and the blade tang. There as fluid as possible, nearly all of them swing freely with the lock disengaged and with no blade play.

My Hinderer XM-18 is my smoothest folder with my small Sebe a close second.

Honorable mention goes to the Kershaw RAM and the AG Russell Acies.

I wish I could do a pass around of my RAZR. I can't begin to tell you how smootth it opens and closes. RAZR stands for rotation at zero resistance.

that is definitley a nice opening knife. But try a william henry or a chris reeve someday and you will change your mind.

I haven't tried a William Henry, but I've owned a Sebenzaa nd the Benchmade is still smoother than it.

BM MPR. Heard a lot of complaints about them after they came out. I must have been one of the lucky ones. After disasembly and some pimping/polishing the lock engages perfectly.

IMO smoothness of opening and closing cannot , under any circumstances be sacraficed for the smallest amount of blade play in any direction , my MPR is the epitome of that.

No blade play at all and ridiculously smooth opening. A slight flick of the thumbstud and the blade flies into locked position. All of this while having a strong detent to do what a detent is supposed to.

your opinion of what smoothness may be different.

ps. I would use caution when polishing PB washers too much , if you remove too much surface material the knife's tolerances could be off and play can develop.

Well Sebenza. Am I really the first to mention that? My BM Presidio is very smooth too. Even my girlfriend who does her best to demonstrate an ignorance of all things bladed loves the feel of that one.

Yep. I have several Sebbies with ridiculously smooth actions.

My BM AFCK (ATS-34) circa 1996? Thing has been back to the shop to be re-tipped, re-sharpened, cleaned.. etc, it gets smoother with time it seems.. Best BM folder imo PERIOD>

My Spyderco ZDP Lum Chinese is my smoothest folder. The blade just flies open with barely any tumb pressure. No blade play, either.

My new Spyderco Para 2 or my Gayle Bradley. Both are smoother than my Sebenza but then my Sebenza has some intangible quality of solidness that neither the P2 or GB has (not that either of those is weak by any means).
