What's the stoopidest thing you've ever done with a knife?

Addict! Time for an intervention. :D

Ya you have a point , Dont they say that the first step is admitting you have a problem?
I have 10 on order right now plus whatever is in the grab bag

It gets worse , honestly don't know how many i have now?
Better half taking daughter to Birthday party later ,maybe ill dig them out and count
Actually that might be a bad idea

When I was 17, I bought a buck 110. Sitting in the living room that evening, my younger brother asked to see it. After looking it over he stated that it didn't impress him. I opened it, grabbed the blade sideways, told him to put his hand on the coffee table, he did and I swung the knife down, breaking one of his fingers with the brass bolsters. As I calmly put it back into it's sheath, my mother just held out her hand. No words were spoken, but the meaning was clear. I went back to carrying a small trapper, my brother had a popsicle stick taped to his finger for about a month, and my grandfather got a nice buck 110 for his birthday.
Now that takes the cake, breaking you're brothers finger because he wasn't impressed by the greatest locking folder to ever exist really says something.
I'm not exactly sure what, but it know it definitely says something

I bought my son a "My First Victorinox" Swiss Army knife and began showing him how to safely use it.

I gave an extremely effective demonstration when I showed how to never draw the blade towards yourself. The resulting cut on my finger required four stitches and a bunch of blood soaked rags. Dumb move on my part but I think he clearly got the point.

Before I was so excited to open a new knife package I cut myself forgetting which side I was holding the blade.
But the repeating offender is my ocd when clearing off trails. I tend to want to clear what’s at the knee to feet level for aesthetic purpose because honestly it doesn’t serve any purpose. Once, I sliced at a plant and the follow through went straight through my boot. Luckily I missed my feet otherwise that would be an interesting hike out. And of course there is an unavoidable large puddle to get out so my boot filling up with water is good punishment. The other time was clearing an hidden old park path but what I didn’t realize was that the wood looking steps were actually concrete shaped as wood. Got a nice chip which took awhile to reprofile.

I dived right into high end knives before doing much research. From Benchmade EDC knives into "high end". Buying based on looks and what their website says about their knives. On top of that, buying 3 of them!!
Wasted a lot of money I could have used on quality knives instead of high priced knives.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I dont know if that's "stoopid" or malicious. Either way it makes a hell of a story...
And I'd bet your brother was always very impressed with your toys from then on!

I was 24. I was trying to separate two pieces of frozen meat using a chef's knife. I held the pieces of meat from behind and stabbed into the front of them.
-Then girlfriend (now wife) says, "Be careful. You shouldn't cut like that."
-I say, "Don't worry. I know what I'm-SHIT!"

Predictably the meat gave way, and I stabbed the knife into my left hand. Right into the meaty part under my thumb. Nicked the princeps pollices artery, blood everywhere, ER visit, stitches, the works.

My then girlfriend/now wife still reminds me every so often.
Yes bro... its their job to bug- remind you!

Dropping a knife and using my foot to soften the blow barefooted. That was stupid.
How come it is that when you drop a knife, it seems like it always lands on the blade and never the handle, and if you throw a knife it seems to land handle first and makes you look stupid. Murphy's law I guess.
Did a large beer bottle foot save with no shoes too. Over six months for a new nail!

Ow!!!, I know that hurt like hell. I did bleed profusely for about ten minutes, thankfully I got it to stop and avoided a trip to the hospital. I've lost a big toe nail twice, but that's another story.

We had a young recruit we had to watch...

Anyone ever make a small friction folder out of a sheep's foot blade from an old broken stockman that's so tight it can go into your finger when you try to fold it ? I did that once and it feels like it was just yesterday, oh wait it was:(

It happened so fast I can't exactly recall how I was holding it, but i definitely wasn't holding it how you might think.
