What's the strangest item you have in your survival kit/pack?

Don,
Thank you. My dentist is someone I trust. My wisdom teeth have ice cream cone roots, so they should just come out. Pain meds don't seem to work for me. Local will have to do.

One thing articles should mention is that research is a good thing.

You would want to know if your home is in the middle of a flood plain for example.

Got your wisdom teeth removed eh? Did your crotch burn whenthey put you under?

Palm sized AM/FM radio w/ single earbud. In a survival situation I want to hear what's going on (good or bad).

Bill money pen. I get find guys that want to pay me in cash sometimes. I have no problems being payed "that" way, I am going to check it though.

Everything else in my edc bag is pretty normal for a weirdo prepper/ survival nut.

I've got a six loop noose rig with a long leader made entirely of paracord and designed to retain a six-pack of beer bottles while they are fully submerged in a rushing river or stream. The long leader is for anchoring to a large-ish rock upstream.

Those mountain ice-melt chilled brews sure do taste great after a long day of hiking the dusty trails

A simple hot water bottle. Not to much weight and can be used as:

- pillow
- (water) container
- to keep you warm(er) during a cold night

I have a deck of cards in my BOB. Mostly because I have kids, would give them something to do if we were stuck somewhere. Better than listening to them complain

I too carry a pack of cards and 5 dices in my bob. L

ow space/weight and may contribute to the psycholigical aspects of survival. (something which should not be underestimated in my opinion.

I carry a pack of Aviator or Bicycle cards that are about half size. They are hard to come by as far as finding them in stores although they are probably easier to find online. And, I have an old set of survival cards. All of those things that you might forget under stress might just be on the back of some of those cards. :)

Marlboro Poker Dice and a small, 1-AAA powered RCA MP3 Player is a good thing to have as well. Just my opinion. I know the purists just like to hear woodpeckers screw, but, some of us need some Led Zeppelin once in a while. :D

Sorry, I was awake for the teeth extraction. Left top and bottom happened the 15th, right happened last Tuesday. Mild pain is what I'm experiencing now. Local anesthesia was all I got. I used my iPhone to browse the forum at the time, pray I wasn't too stupid.

Here's mine. Some may think there are a few strange things in there. :D

Survival kit contents check. In them you’ll find: one .45 caliber automatic; two boxes of ammunition; four days concentrated emergency rations; one drug issue containing: antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills; one miniature combination Russian phrase book and bible; one hundred dollars in rubles; one hundred dollars in gold; nine packs of chewing gum; one issue of prophylactics; three lipsticks; three pair a nylon stockings.

I carry some reusable zip-ties, they can really come in handy. I also got a pack of 8" velcro cable ties, with a small sewing kit you could add velcro to lots of things if needed.
