What's too nice for EDC?

Everything I own gets carried regularly, from 200 year old pearl lobster to my customs and my Sebenzas, the one I carry the least is my William Henry T10-P Lancet in pearl, it was from the first production run of Matt's knives, very understated for a WH knife.

I will admit I have maybe 3 or 4 knives that are safe queens but they were bought at a good price with the intention to sell them at a later date to make a little profit....

The only knives I have trouble carrying are ones given to me. They might be easy to replace but it would not be easy to replace the thought of them giving it to me.

This is the very reason that I have been buying "users" a lot lately. For instance, I have ZT 0600 and 0600BLK bnib, but have not been able to bring myself to carry them. I recently happened upon a package deal of a user 0801BW user and 0600 user for a great deal. I sharpened both on the Wicked Edge, and one or the other has been in my pocket ever since (mostly the 0600, which is in my pocket right now).

This is one of those questions that only you can answer for yourself. I've decided that i love my nice knives too much to not carry and use them. My most expensive knives at the moment are a William Henry Atlas and a Robert Dark Custom Hunter Fixed Blade. I use them both! My William Henry just got its first battle scar yesterday from cutting thick cardboard.

Knives being beautiful, costly, or rare only give me more reasons to carry and use them. You should decide for yourself how you want to run your collection. The forum can only show you what everyone else does, but it is not the law.

I had not seen the Ranch Boss. Looked it up and yes, it is pricey and probably fits in this thread as a possible "too nice to carry or too expensive to carry". I wonder who is making them for Cold Steel? My guess is Canal Street Cutlery, but I don't know (yet).

By the way, it is the size I like at 4.25" closed. Added: If it was "dull as a butter knife", that probably means Queen.

Yes I think I read somewhere that the knife is being made by Queen. I really don't understand why anyone would make a knife of such quality materials and fail to put a decent edge on it.
