Whats up with 1084?

Can you still get 1084? What is it going for ...for a pound? And where can you get it?

Admiral Steel sells it. Not sure about the price of 1084, but they sell 1075/1080 in their online store.

I think it looks like 1075/1080 is about $3.40/lb from them, though my math could be off.

I just picked up some from Sheffield but the sizes they have are limited.I was told it was hard to get ????

1084 is no longer being made, the last mill that was producing it closed. Steel mills in this country are droping like flies Kelly Couples still has some I'm pretty sure.

Admiral has told me they no longer stock 1084 and that it has been discontinued. They do offer what might be called 1075/1080. It is not 1080. It is 1075 (about 0.72 percent carbon content).
