Hi.
I just wanted to say up front that I've had no bad dealings with Brian.
I've talked to him a bit on the phone and he's been a great guy to deal with. I've bought two knives from him in the past two months -- an Emerson Mini CQC7 and a Benchmade 690. His communication has been spotty, but I always got what I wanted, and in my book, that makes it all ok.
Now I'm looking for a Mini Buck Strider and I email him -- no answer in a week. I could buy from somewhere else, but 1) I like using American Express, and 2) he's the only dealer I could find that also carries the DMT aligner, and I'd rather pay for shipping once.
Having given up, I put in a request at TAD (thanks Josh) but now I'll have to ship the other bits and pieces from another dealer.
After I've read through these forums, the thing that puzzles me is: since he's such a good guy, why does he have such bad response consistency to emails?
I suppose the point being that if we (buyers) had a sort of good reason as to why he answers (or not) it might be more understandable.
Could someone (or Brian?) explain the rationale? Maybe he's just too busy to respond? On vacation? The sole proprietor and only person staffing the shop? Had a family emergency? Mostly, I'm just curious, and in a perfect world he would have a notice on the site indicating if he was checking his email.
Thanks.
