I just can't stop buying their knives. I bought 16 kershaws in the last 5 weeks.
just last week I ordered 4 speck bumps from kershawguy (by the way he has super fast shipping and is great to deal with). It just seems when I buy a kershaw I know what Iam getting a great knife that will last ,have great fit and finish and in the rare case that something is wrong I know Iam backed by their awesome warranty and customer service. I stripped a screw on one of my 1596sw went online told them about it got an email from Claudia and their sending the parts no problem should be here in a couple of days dont even have to send my knife in. Well to tell the truth I wont be buying another kershaw for a while I kinda ran out of money but I,am positive my next knife will
be a kershaw .So is it just me or whats up with kershaw;)

i liked kershaw for a while too. i had a few of their knives. but i got bored with kershaw. dunno what happened there. oh well. don't let yourself become a one-trick pony.

I try to switch it up a bit 2 moths ago I bought a benchmade 950 rift (by the way awesome knife) and 2 spyderco resilience's but then I think to myself I could have bought 4 more spec bumps for the same price. I know I am sick but I really like those spec bumps.:o

It's hard to go wrong with Kershaw.

To be quite honest, I haven't bought one in some time because nothing in their more recent designs has really appealed to me. That being said, every Kershaw I've bought has had impressive fit, finish, and overall quality. The one knife I know I'll never get rid of is my good ol' Kershaw Cyclone. As bertosknives said, their warranty is also outstanding - They really stand by their products.

The stuff they're bringing out this coming year looks pretty awesome, though - The Piston, Knockout, Echelon, and the Zero Tolerance 0550 look like fantastic designs. Like you said, it looks like they're going to cost me a lot of money in 2011. :D

They really do make solid knives. And their customer service is the best in the industry.

i'd love to own more kershaws but the majority of their models are A/O, which makes them considerably more difficult(read: impossible) to get in this country.

so yes, whats up with kershaw?

this is another concern i have, the A/O action. i would prefer a knife without it because if i EDC the knife i don't want it construed to be a switchblade or gravity knife.

p.s. im going to ask if they are planning to make a non-A/O version.

I have a few (7 now) and like them all, use/used almost all and always been happy
quality, manufacturing and service are really high, great HT and locks

cannot go wrong with them if you want a user knife, great to collect too!
from my side I have the same number oh kershaw/spyderco but the kershaws have better attention to finish IMO, been feeling more mafia than a spider lately

One non assisted Kershaw you may want to look at
is the Double Cross/Double Duty series.
Looks are 'traditional' with staminawood handles and silver nickel bolsters.
but the AUS6 blades have thumb studs for ez open and single
liner lock operates on both blades.
Double Cross 3.5" w/wharncliffe secondary,
Dbl Duty 4 1/8" w/spey secondary

Love their designs but I too would prefer fewer A/O models. The 2011 Echelon is a case in point, great looking design, wish that it was just a flipper though.

Same here, I'd prefer less AO models too, I had a hard time carrying their AO knives coz I was worrying about the lock all the time. Just don't feel secured when EDC them. There's really no need to add AO on the small EDC models IMO...

Interesting. Kershaw makes a good many non AO knives. bout 6 months ago I got an Ener-G II knife from them and it has become my edc. I also have a Junk Yard Dog II which is also a flipper and an excellent larger knife. The majority of their blades are non AO I believe.

The RAM is also non A/O and a great knife. I'm addicted to Kershaw for many reasons one being they are only a few hours from me. :)

I know what you're saying. I never even looked at a Kershaw and thought they were way beneath Benchmade and Spyderco. I bought a few blems from Kerhsawguy and am watching their new stuff. Loved my ZT0301 and bought a ZT 0551 and Kershaw is on par or better than the other 2 companies (and I love the other 2).

I think their aggressive style for blowing out new, radical designs, collaborations, exotic steels, detailed fit n finish - on par with the best, super customer service, friendly interraction with forum members, makes them on the top of my radar screen!! They are really on the come big time over the best few years!

The Kershaw site shows 22 non AO flippers available most of which are excellent designs with very good steels. This does not include the ZT line of knives.

They have a number of frame lock knives, 26 I think, a few of which are not ao.

A number of very well made traditional folders with a back lock.

They make a number of very good knives at a number of different price points.

They're nice knives and not badly priced. Own several, not particularly exciting once the hobby progresses into customs and high - end offerings but, nice knives.

"not particularly exciting once the hobby progresses into customs and high - end offerings but, nice knives" Zing! I dunno, I think many people here would argue you get more out of a ZT301 than the equivalent (equal in terms of target audience, features etc) Strider that costs considerably more. My appreciation of Kershaw is for its affordable, high quality knives that are backed by THE best warranty in the business. Anybody looking for an awesome non AO knife right now, the Lahar was recently disco'd and they are a steal at around $50-$60 give or take.
