I am looking for a folder and everyone that I like the blade is always under 4". I want a folder I can carry everyday to replace my CRKT M-16 OIF that has a 4" blade. I saw a few Cold Steel models but wanted something with a heavier handle right around $100-$125 at most. Any suggestions? Thanks.
The reason folders are generally under this length is because blade length restrictions (as pointed out earlier by Sal) and because anything over 4" becomes cumbersome when using the knife for basic EDC chores. I personally find anything 4" or under (around 3.5") gets the job done.

As for suggestions, I don't own one but I'd say go for the Military. I've heard nothing but good things about it and it's a big blade.

I agree, If you are looking for a folder with a 4" blade I would go with the military. very comfortable to carry if you ask me.

Benchmade 710 or military. I have a 710. I am thinking about replacing it with a military. So I would say the military, there are alot of things to like about it. I cannot recall hearing a bad review.

Thanks for the advice, I'm keeping my eyes open for a deal on the Military. I did go pick up the Applegate Combat Folder, very happy with it. I've been wearing it in the sheath with the horizontal position and it is very comfortable and doesn't stick out too much (not with my fat anyway). It also leaves me pocket space for a Military.

I dunno... the Endura is not 4" but it is pretty darn close, and one of the best time-proven value buys out there. Does that 1/4" really matter that much?

Just picked up a Benchmade Hardtail 13100 - definately worth looking into. I have had it with me for a week - the blade length (4") and shape is working real fine...:D

The prices have started to come down on them also - worth checking out.

I will also +1 on the Military.
