Whats wrong with my solar Casio?

We'll see what happens. Why not give my technique a try?

I will try that, or I will tell my son to try it. He has the watch now. He had a Fossil which was not up to what a 16 year old can put a watch through.

Well, this may work. When it was able to be done, we set all the alarms and turned on the light so it would activate when the watch was tilted. The alarms went off a few times which drove the meter to read a medium charge then just continued tilting the watch over and over while watching TV or whatever. That drove the meter down pretty quick and the watch finally died completely.

Early this morning I put it outside so it would catch the sun rising, as the sun gets higher I will turn the watch again and also when it begins to go down. So far this looks like it may actually be working.

Maybe I just always had it in the light just enough to charge it a bit but never enough. I know lots of things (like my old laptop) the meter gets to where it rarely depicts actual charge accurately. Maybe a good discharge and full recharge is what it needs.

Will let ya know how it worked out.

Well, constant charging did nothing for it. I took a chance on taking it to a Jewelery shop and lucked out that the lady behind the counter knows watches. She said she did not know for sure, but suspects that there were a batch of bad batteries. Anyways, while I looked around she took the watch apart, cleaned it up, replaced the battery and one of the screws and checked the integrity (water tightness) of the watch. All fixed up for under 10 dollars. It was nice to see that she stocks many parts for Casios and knows how to work on them.
