What's wrong with this picture anyway?

Blade magazine sent me a calender, as I'm sure they did for all subscribers. I turned to the month of May and there is a big pic full of knives. Problem is, all of these knives(except one)are relatively inexpensive factory knives. The one knife shown that is not is one of Ed Fowler's knives. Is it me, or does this just not seem right? To lump one of Ed's masterpieces in with a bunch of factory knives seems kind of insulting to me.
 
It may not make sense to you or me but I'm sure it wasn't meant as an insult. A lot of what BLADE magazine is about pertains to relatively inexpensive factory knives.
 
I am sure that Ed does not consider it to be an insult. He is a pretty easy going guy. I have not seen the calendar, so I can not comment. I think though that a really nice idea for a calendar would be a picture of a different really nice custom knife for each month. That would be far more appealling to me. Of course that would not make the manufacturers very happy and they do spend a lot on advertising.

The only one that really got to me was a couple of years ago when Darrel and Kit were lookin' down at me for over a month. :D

(sometimes it takes me a while to flip the page)
 
When Ange turned the callender to this month, I saw my knife and was honored. I called the folks at Blade and said thanks. All knives and knive makers are family. Thanks for the kind thoughts.

Actually, I figured Ed would think that also. It just struck me a little funny; the picture anyway.
 
Hey, that's "funny"..... I am also a subscriber to BLADE but I didn't received a calendar:mad:
It has something to do with that I am not based in the US but in Switzerland? Well, these calendars are not free, they are calculated in the subscription fee as I take it. I ALSO PAY A SUBSCRIPTION FEE!!
Some guys at BLADE may need some more lessons in basic mathematics:D
Anyway, sorry to bother you guys with that, I will write to BLADE directly!!
