What's yer favorite? And Why?

For fixed blade. Any Busse will do! And of course the same with swamprat!

P.S. If I need to explain, you'll never understand! :D ;)

I chande my mind about which knife I "think" I like the best from week to week but I think if I had to choose I will pick the BM 705. I always go back to this one.

Benchmade AFCK w/spyder hole, Liner lock.

This is my favorite user hands down. The blade lenth, edge, and shape is perfect for anything i use a knife for. The liner lock is smooth and the knife all around is consistent. The liner lock never gets stuck and the blade is so smooth, it never fails to open. I don't really use the opening hole, it only needs a flick of the wrist to open.

As far as production knives go, I would have to say the Emerson Super Commander. Its tough, big and you just can't beat the wave feature for cool factor plus functionality.

Beauty aside, My BM556 is by far the slickest and easiest EDC knife to use that I've ever handled. The size makes it perfect for tuckin the back end of the handle into the hand and pullin the lockbar back. It is dam near as fast as a switch blade and closing is just as fast and slick. This comes in VERY handy when your laying under a car or at work repairing machinery and have to have a knife NOW and only have 1 hand available. The liners run the full length of the handle and are thicker than my 940/941's liners too. Awesome affordable user knife.

Here is one of my favorites.

3 3/4" 52100 blade, single edge quenched, triple tempered, etched and polished. Rabbett tang, Desert Ironwood burl handle secured to tang with Corby type 303 SS bolts, brass guard.

A slightly different view:

This was made by me for personal carry. It's my favorite because it was my first edge quench blade and has taken my knifemaking in a whole different direction. It also cuts like the proverbial razor too. Did I mention it fits my hand perfectly?:D

All the best,
Mike U.

In no particular order: Kershaw Boa, Spyderco Civilian, Kershaw Whirlwind, MicroTech Hawk, and the MicroTech Ultra Tech.

For a production knife it has to be my BM 942, its by far my most abused knife and I never go anywhere without it. For customs it would be my JW Smith framelock flipper. I've got more expensive customs but this one hasn't left my pocket since I got it.

When I got my BM 806D2, 921, 940, and 941, I instantly fell in love with the 921, and thought it was the perfect utility knife. I wasn't too pleased with the feel of the 806 in my hand, and wasn't impressed with the factory edge. I also liked both 94x, but find the 941 to be a better blade shape for general utility than the reverse tanto of the 940. I do like the 940 for show and tell though. Good feel in the hand, and the aluminum scales give good grip.

Well, as you use your knives more and more, first impressions usually change somewhat. While I still love the 921, it has been moved to a secondary position, while my 806D2 has moved to a primary position. The reason being I feel the 921 handle is too slippery, especially when your hands are really cold and dry from winter weather. This is really only a problem when opening and closing, not when using. Also, I have sharpened the 806D2 to the point that I'm extremely pleased with it's cutting ability now, and I'm really starting to like the feel of it in my hand.

Long story short, I originally preferred the 921 over the 94x over the 806D2 (which was primary SD EDC). Now I prefer the 806D2 for main EDC and SD, and will use the 921 and 94x models on a rotation basis for just light duty stuff.

Of course there is still the Large Classic Sebenza that is coming in that I won in the passaround.:)

My favorite is my Dozier Straight Personal with coral micarta handles. I just love this knife. Fits my hand perfectly, well made, just a great peice. Plus it was a gift from my lovely wife and my first handmade which makes it even better.

Othen then that, I have yet to find a BM balisong that I don't like. I have a BM42, 43, 31, and 35SPL with a 42SS on the way.

Basically my two favorite general types of knives are balisongs of any kind be it production or custom, and small fixed blades (blades under 3.5-4")

As far as a folder, I love my BM 806D2. good size, slim profile, not noticeable in my pocket, great steel, love the finger notch (helps protect from slippage) Great company. ;)

Have to agree with Bladeswinger the BM806D2 is an awesome knife. I just got mine yesterday and it is sweet, solid lock up, sharp blade, good size. Benchmade is top notch.

Thought I would revisit this topic and add my "favorite" production knife; the Cuda MAXX! This is one of the best bargins going today! You get 5.5" of D2 steel that has a high grind on it that facillitates a razor edge that slices and slices and slices. You also get titanium handles that are anodized a darkening shade of blue from top to bottom. The titanium handle also forms the framelock that on mine is perfectly executed. Having had an original custom MAXX I can honestly say that this knife from Camillus is the finest copy of a custom design I have seen yet!

My favorite right now is the Spyderco G-10 Police.

Slim very comfortable handle with G-10 scales, thin flat blade, fine precise tip, good'ol sturdy lockback, looks classy, and it cuts like crazy!

Good luck,
Allen.

My favorite right now at least is my Jeff Cover slipjoint that I picked up at the St. Louis knife show about 2 weeks ago. For some damn reason, I just can't seem to put it down. At a close second is my EDC, small decorated Sebenza. Also on my favorites list is my Benchmade 970, Spyderco ProGrip, Spyderco Mouse, and my Perrin La Griffe.

I keep carrying my Chris Reeve Mnandi.

I don't know if it is my favorite, but it just keeps getting in my pocket.
