reckon the subject says it all...

I used to detest the things, but once I quit trying to hang Battle Mistresses and Brutes from my neck I found it to be a pretty handy way of carry...

My favorite neck knife(and I have many) is my custom mini Kozuka from R.J. Martin. Blade is a hair under 3" of double hollow ground S30V at 60 Rockwell. Sharp enough to scare the hair off a gnat's ass. Handle is maroon rayskin under traditional cord wrap. Sheath is moleskin lined kydex with kangaroo leather outside. This knife goes with me everywhere except the office.

An AG Russell Hunter's Scalpel. It is small and light enough to go on the same chain as my medic alert tag and not be a bother. In fact, I think it weighs less than the tag. I'm not real big on carrying a knife this way, but when I do it is the scalpel.

My Camillus Cuda CQB-2 is MY favorite neck knife 'cause I like the way it looks and the way it feels in my hand. It's the perfect size (for me) for a "necker". I also have its' "big brother", the CQB-1, and when I wear 'em both (the CQB-1 on my belt, IWB), I'm really making a "fashion statement".:D.

Mini Talon. It's small so it's comfortable to wear but it does the job most of the time. I sweat like a pig so I never have to worry about rust. This knife gets more carry time than any other knife I own.

I only have experience with two...CRKT F4 and a EKI La Griffe...

Of the two I much prefer the La Griffe. Has a lot to do with the sheath it came with too. Very light and slim and I hardly know it's around my neck. Feels good in hand too..very natural grip..

My favourite neck knife is no neck knife.
I just can't see it being a good way of carry, at least for me.

Picked up a La Griffe just the other day. My only regret was that I waited so long, absolutely love the thing. Surprisingly I've been using the heck out of it around the house too.

Just yesterday I picked up an AG Russell Bird and Trout that's really neat so far. I haven't cut the first thing with it besides my cuticles, but with that thin flat ground blade it's just beggin' to be used.

Now I'm in a debate between carrying the La Griffe or the Bird & Trout. So far I'm deciding on the La Griffe for around the big town and when I'm working Security, while maybe carrying the Bird and Trout for yard work, hiking, and around my own small town. Make sense?

Of cours then there's the Arno Bernard Custom that's just like a beautiful lil' scalpel...and my Timberline Mini-Pitbull is just about a perfect compromise of everything....oh! and my CRKT Ryan Plan B is really nice, and definitely enough knife for a given task...and then the MOD Scorpion is so light....and...and..and my Spyderco Mini-Dyad from a neck sheath is really neat with the flat ground plain edge blade for daily tasks and the serrated sheepsfoot for cutting heavier materials or seatbelts....

AGGGHHH!!!! dammit! I love 'em all!! I can't choose a favorite!

next one I purchase I'm thinkin' about a little Dozier spear point neck knife I saw in a local shop for about $110.

I think I'm gettin' addicted.

My current favorite is a Raker Little Blue II in hand-forged 52100.

I like it because it is absolutely unbelievably sharp, light and unobtrusive, and comes with an elk hide leather thong with a brass bead adjustment rather than the generic black parachute cord.

This is mine from Jen's site his first one, nice and light with a great sheath that has a break away cord, that Vinland Damasteel cuts like a dream! Go to the THE CLAWS and chick on the Naked one! hehe

I like Newt Livesay's NRGS-Ex. It is very well made, well heat treated, a handy size and shape, and costs around $55.00

I have an R.W. Clark wharncliffe mini-aikuchi that spends a lot of time around my neck. When it's hanging outside my shirt, people don't even seem to notice that it's a knife, and, since the blade's really a sheepsfoot, I don't worry about it being concealed when I wear it inside my shirt (VA concealed weapons statutes refer to dirks, daggers, and weapons of like kind; i.e., stabbing weapons). It's O-1, but despite living in a somewhat humid climate and wearing it right after training (and still sweating), I haven't had any problems with rust.

I personally find neck knives uncomfortable but I do carry an EKI La Griffe or a Camillus Mini-Talon now and then. I'm still trying to decide on a belt carry rig for them.

My favorite is the La Griffe also... so lightweight around the neck under a shirt, you hardly notice it all. Nice ergonomics, nice hawkbill blade shape also, VERY quick draw, just plain handy. Cons: challenging to sharpen the curved chisel, the sheath sometimes twists around too easily which messes up your draw, the kydex sheath scratches the hell out of the blade..thats about it

I have an Arclite myself, but I find that thin metal handle to be very uncomfortable, and in need of some form of lower guard.

Polkowski Small Nomad:
-secure handle shape (especially for the small size)
-finger groove
-knife clicks perfectly into place in the sheath
-cool blade shape
-looks cool overall
-Mr. Polkowski's cool
-got it from Blade Art and they're cool

My CRKT Stiff K.I.S.S...and my Busse assault shaker...I just look at either of them, and hair just falls off my arm in fear...:D
