Whats you favorite multi-tool for outdoor/camping use?

SAK Huntsman.

Especially like the large scissors and the saw when in the field - even when just fishing.

Been using a Victorinox Swisstool since early in the year. It has a very sensible selection of tools on it and seems to be very nicely made. The leather pouch mine came with also seems to be decent enough. It's no work of art but it is holding up well and holds the tool inside plenty securely.

I've had a Leatherman Blast for years but the blade is too small for my taste. Thinking about an upgrade myself.

If also find it gives me all I need
And I add the very light weight Leatherman Squirt PS4 for the small pliers

The SAK Huntsman and the Leatherman Squirt PS4 is much lighter than a full size Leatherman Wave

If I plan activities for their use, my full-size multitool selection is the Victorinox Spirit.

I was just going to comment that the Leatherman PS4 has become my choice of mini-multitool; perfect for backpacking and fly-fishing. Paired with a SAK (either my Farmer or Rucksack), and they make a great tool-kit combo.

The Victorinox Huntsman has all I need in an outdoor pocket tool. Depending on the activity, I throw a multitool with pliers in the backpack and this year I started using a SwissTool Spirit, which replaces a Leatherman Charge TTi.

Yeah--out of the mini-multi's on the market the PS4 is by far my favorite.

Yea, Leatherman Wave all the way. I EDC an SAK Huntsman, but my Wave is in my EDC bag (which is also always with me).

Mine is most often the alox pioneer (black) but sometimes the alox farmer (red, blue or silver). The colors are cool!

I have a vic spirit and sog pocket plier that stay in the vehicle or range bag.

I recently got the little Leatherman Style PS because it's airline approved (no blade) and the little pliers are very precise. I could see them being good for pulling slivers.

I honestly think Wave is the best, but needs two things. A replaceable firesteel instead of the serrated knife (a plain edge and saw works fine), and a nail clipper instead of the can opener. I'm sure they can figure it out, but I've never seen a multitool that has those.

Firesteel can be extracted and used with the file. As for nail clipper, it's uses are almost endless. Seriously, I don't even need a knife for fishing (except gutting and cleaning when I get back). When I'm actually fishing, pliers and a nail clipper is all I need.

Leatherman Charge XTI..love it because the PE & SE Blades, File and Saw are all accessible without opening the tool, and have great lock up..154 CM blade on the PE, not sure about the serrated..anyway have had it since they first came out, and have used it hard, no issues/except..where I broke the tip off the can opener..but that was user error..should have used the flat head..
Pliers have held up great too, I've cut a lot of wire including multiple coat hangers, and a little barbed wire through the years, and still works great on lower gauge wiring.
I occasionally look for replacement, just to try something new, more or less, but can't find one that has all the same components...If I bought another..have heard great things about the Swiss Spirit..but haven't found on with both PE&SE blades to make me take the jump.

I usually pair up a Leatherman Juice KF4 and a Vic classic. The Classic has the tweezers and scissors that the Leatherman is missing. When I rarely bring canned food with me, I'll swap out the KF4 for the XE6, or open the can with my fixed blade

Swiss Spirit. All the tools are useful, accessible without having to open it, and it's super tough. The mirror finish makes it very weather resistant, too.

All the tools are accessible except the pliers. When the pliers are open, the rest of the tools are not accessible.

That's why I like the Leatherman Supertool 300 or the Leatherman Blast. All the tools are accessible at the same time.

The Vic tools are nice, but I found their screwdrivers too slippy. I prefer the squared edges of the Leatherman tools.
