I like folders alot...Buck 110, opinel #9, vic rucksack, all being at the top of my list...but most are a little lage for pocket carry or edc...I often carry a stockman pattern (easy to fond in carbon steel) but they often do not feel as solid in my hand as a good alox vic...my pocket rotation varies between..vic farmer, vic super tinker, opinel #6 or a case, buck or boker stockman...

I rotate my edc every once in awhile
my current edc is a rat 1 folder I mostly like 3" 1/2 -4" bladed pocket
clip folder backed up by a sak mini champ, multitool
edcs i own large sebenza,bm mini rukus,rukus,bm vex,endura,salt 1,
cs recon 1 tanto,cs recon 1 clip,bm griptilian,bm ares,sog xray

I like my opinel #8 for pocket carry. Very sheeple friendly and cuts like a lazer.

Kershaw Lahar. Love that knife. Great ergos and vg-10 steel.

Of course.... I'm soon to have a Boker Subclaw, and that might very well become my new favorite EDC. To be honest, 80% at least of my EDC duties include cutting open packaging. A super small hawkbill might be the cat's pajamas at doing that. We'll see :)

I still like my Camillus Heat for EDC. At work I carry a Spyderco Native. Both are pretty inexpensive folders that just keep putting out for me. I have a CRKT Prowler that I love too, but it is usually a tad to big to carry most of the time. I generally relegate it to hiking with a pack.

for a long time i carried an opinel #7 and an oldtimer minuteman.

then i traded the #7 out for a #10. then i put away the minuteman. then i decided that i didn't really need the #10, that was the same size as my mora #1, in my pocket. i started carrying a Case equal end pen, then i ground one of the pen blades into a coping blade for whittling.

then i put away the Case pen and i have been carrying the #7 for about a month again. of course, i also have various supplementary knives scattered throughout my EDC bags and sometimes in my pockets or on my belt.

for example, i keep a vic sportsman with a roll of cloth medical tape and a pair of nail clippers in my school shoulder bag, transfered to my out-of-school shoulder bag and day hiking bag when the need arises. i also have a small pen knife in my repair kit, and i have a buck stockman in my post office bag. i also have my mora on my belt alot or in my shoulder bag.

but my main carry that i have no matter what right now is the opinel #7. great little knife.

Benchmade 530.

I've EDC'd one for a long time now.

154CM steel, 3.25" blade, Noryl handle scales with steel liners, Axis Lock, ultra slim carry, "weight" 1.8 oz.

Buck Alpha Dorado hands down. I wanted a people friendly, one hand opening, little EDC folder that was sturdy enough to be used for fireboards, trap parts, etc. and this fills the bill to a T. First I bought one in 420HC and I liked it so much, I bought one in 154CM.

While over in the Buck sub forum I learned that Buck is having problems, so I may buy another just to be on the safe side, although I truly hope Buck weathers the storm. After Camillus and Schrade I don't want to see another truly fine U.S. knife manufacturer bite the dust.

I don't prefer the Dorado over a SAK because I consider that apples and oranges and I also EDC a Vic Spirit.

Vic Farmer (blue alox!) is the definite winner for me. Second would be my Opinel, I think it's a #7 or 8..

It's funny to me that it was way easier for me to settle on a 'perfect enough' folder, than a fixed field blade.

I like to EDC a stockman. I like having multiple blades reserved for specific tasks. I usually use the clip for most things and reserve the edge on the spey blade for when I need it. I got trappers and copperheads that make it into the rotation also.

Probably my next folder will be a Spyderco Tenacious. I like traditional slippies, but they are easier to lose without a clip.

I assign specific tasks to my stockman blades as well..I usually use the spey blade for wood craft stuff..the shape of the tipm makes it easy ti cut holes for fire boards..I use the sheepsfoot for utility and the clip is for food....

Vic alox farmer all the way. I might have a spydie or a small fixed blade in addition though. Depends on where im goin.

I EDC a Charge Xti. I don't necessarily like the knife of it, but I can't bring myself to carry anything else. I'm looking at some other knives to EDC, but I cringe a little inside when I think about leaving my Leatherman behind. I think a Benchmade Mini-Dejavoo is my favorite for comfort, but I'm leaning towards a mini-Griptilian or Mini-Rukus now.

My usual edc right now is a leatherman XE6, a Buck mini-trapper and a Vic classic.
For regular cutting chores i mostly use the Buck.
When i need pliers or a saw i use the Leatherman.
The classic is there mostly for the tooth pick and tweezers! Also its what i use if there are sheeple about.
lol!
I also have a vic micro-screwdriver inserted in the leathermans corkscrew because its just so handy!
I've always been a SAK kinda guy and to me the Leatherman XE6 is SAK-ish, it is only just slightly bigger than my Swisschamp.
Before the Leatherman i mostly carried A Vic Compact and/or a Vic Farmer and/or OH Trekker.

If it was a question of single bladed folder i would take one of my Buck 110's.
Second would be my old SOG Tomcat, the blade holds an edge and cuts well but its very thick. The Buck is better for slicing stuff.

Edit:
Oops "pocket" folder eh?
Well the 110 and the Tomcat can be pocket carried but they work better in a sheath.
Everything else in my list i carry in a pocket or on a keychain,
