Hey guys, I was wondering what is your around the house knife? By that I mean just hanging out inside your home knife. Mine would be my kabar Dozier folder or my ZT 0350, it just depends on my mood

The more I use it, the more I can't believe I only paid twelve bucks for it. Cold Steel gets it right yet again.

I use a Kershaw Chill at my desk for opening mail and boxes.

I keep a Mora in the kitchen so that the wife won't use the good kitchen knives on boxes.

My Case Mini Copperhead gets used all day in the kitchen and around the house. Its small and takes the finest edge of any knife I own. Super handy. Plus its got Blue Bone which gives me a uh, smile.

When I'm cutting stuff that's probably shouldn't be cut with a pocket knife (which happens a lot at home) I dig out an old Craftsman Knife that was given to me...(stole the pic from a web search but it's identical to this)....

9 times out of 10, I'll just pull the PM2 from my pocket and use that:

When in the garage, I'll usually grab the custom-scaled EnZo, since it's just hanging on the pegboard:

If I'm working in the yard, trimming trees or hacking stuff down, it'll be the BK7 for sure:

Spyderco Stretch in VG-10, usually. It holds a decent edge and I'm comfortable being mean to it (getting sticky stuff on it, cutting boxes, opening things, prying) because it just feels like a nicer beater.

Whatever happens to be in my pocket at the time, or close to hand. Usually a Spyderco Military. I do have a big old Cold Steel Vaquero Grande that I like to use if tearing up a rather large box. Over the years I have almost sharpened the serrations out of existence, although it still features an asymmetric edge grind due to the prior existence of serrations. Still cuts like a real champ.

It was one that came with a sheath and no clip. I screwed a blackened Benchmade clip to the handle using self-tapping screws.

It is the only back lock knife I have that I cannot truly one-hand close. The lock is frikking tough. Have to use my thumb and close it by pressing against my leg. It's harder than the two Tri Ad locked CS knives I own.

Vic SAK Adventurer. It is my indoor outdoor knife. I even have it in my pocket of my jammies if I am lounging around the house.

In bed right now in "house shorts" and there's a Svord Peasant hanging from my waistband and a Vic. camper in my hand.

I guess if I got up, I'd put the SAK down and the Peasant would still be there, so add that one to the above "Opinel, SAK, Mora" answer

For me it varies by the day and my mood. Right now I have a Large Sebenza Insingo in my pocket. Truly a great knife.

My Fighter plus stainless steal is the around the house work horse. I don't know who made it, but it has a 2 1/8" partially serrated blade, and a stainless steel frame and liner lock. It also has a neat lock release button on it's side. It a tough little sucker that I've come to love.
