whats your backup blade?

At work I carry a leatherman rebar and on weekends I'll carry a SAK in my back pocket. I carry the SAK primarily so I don't have to loan out the sebenza, as I've been hearing a lot of horror stories lately. My backup "car" knife is a 110.

That's a good idea. If I had a Sebenza I would most likely never lend it out.

I rotate through so many different blades as my EDC, I am not really sure that I have a regular back up blade. My wife has a Vic SAK in her car and I added a SOG Paratool to the motorcycle's tool kit. I guess they could be considered my EDC backup blades.

My main job puts me in an office around patients so I grab a Gerber EAB most of the time for work but I have been known to carry a stockman. If I can find a used Kershaw Zing (US made)
for a reasonable price, it will become my main office carry with the EAB as back up.

The other job puts me in a field setting so things change some. Normally, I carry a benchmade 551 for field work with a Leatherman Wave as backup. The problem is that my Boss also carries a Grip and a Leatherman at times so I might change what I carry. Maybe there is a Utilitac in my future. :)

At work, my backup is a Leatherman Charge Ti (Main is a Benchmade Mini Axis Stryker).

Outside of work, my backup is a Leatherman Juice (Have many choices for my main, but my current favorite is my new Spyderco Dice).

Regardless of where I am, I always have the Victorinox Manager on my keychain.

This thread is making me wanna get a Victorinox Cadet for a loaner though...

My main blade is a Benchmade 850. My backup/ church knife is a cheap Winchester knife that my kids bought me for Father's Day about six years ago. For a $20 knife, it's actually pretty nice. Takes a great edge and has done everything I have asked it to do. It's a bit smaller than the Benchmade, so I tend to wear it when I want something smaller in my pocket.

I rotate between 4 knives and usually carry them in the below combos:

Primary Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Slicer - Secondary Chris Reeves Umnumzaan Tanto

or

Primary Hinderer XM-18 3.5 Wharnie - Secondary is a Strider SNG

Well I don't know what's backup vs primary but I like two knives at a time. Always have a dragonfly variety as small blade, and rotate my 3+ inch knives for a medium to larger blade depending on mood or circumstance.

My main is a ZT 0566, and I switch between my newer acquisitions of a RAT 1 or a Delica 4. I still use the ZT the most, but the Delica is growing on me for the sheer weight. Also, since I wear Blackhawk WW pants at work I can carry them all in the front or back pockets and still have them easily accessible.

Off duty a Spyderco Endura and Bradley Kimura. On duty Benchmade 2750SBK on the vest and the Endura in my pants pocket. Heavy Kershaw chopper in the backpack which always comes in handy during the bad storms we have had up here the last few years.

I carry daily now Ontario sp1 on belt and a droppoint lockback Gerber and Gerber multi tool, sak on keys. In my bag with my kabar as backup primary a spyderco as backup secondary and another Gerber multi tool as backup third. Plus a cheap lockback to lend to someone or for stuff that might hurt my other knives same for a cheap multi tool and cheap fixed paracord wrapped handle, last I have another sak and a credit card knife in my wallet its alot I know :)

I don't carry a back up, I carry 2 or 3 daily and any one of those could serve as a back up should loss, breakage or otherwise occur.

I usually just carry one blade unless I'm hunting or camping or something like that. But if I carry more than one its usually this gi custom neck knife. Snapped this pic this morning on the way out.
