Yeah, I know that's a thread topic that puts most of us to sleep immediately, but....

Seein' how brand loyal alot of y'all are, and considering the pragmatic restraints of carrying a twenty something inch khukuri 24/7, what do you carry for day to day use?

I figured there may be some more unique answers from asking that age old question in this corner of the forums....

It's going to be a new antler Sarge soon for outdoors, it is a Benchmade 940 Osborn Axis (CM154, black blade w/o serrations) in green for the office, a S&W auto on the scoot (no real loss if it's lost), a Pen Knife for daily camp carry.

Oh...and a ball peen hammer...sometimes.

.

Sebenza...*nice*...I guess the military pays better now than when I was in, eh? ;)

Hehe... actually the fella who rear-ended my old (and really beat up) Chevy two weeks ago is going to end up paying for it. The insurance check should be in the mail tomorrow.

BRILLIANT! A new source of Khukri funds!

:D Watch out on the roads in Dayton...I gotz lotz of shopping to do!

Reminds me of how I got the money for my first khukuri. A trucker accidently backed into my car at the High School and broke one of my tail lights. I got the estimate for a new tail light, then bought one at a local junkyard and used the proceeds for my first khuk. :D

For me its an Emerson waved CQC-7 or a Benchmade 5000SBT Presidio Auto Axis.

And then sometimes, its a Becker BK-9 or an Ontario ON-OKC3S (USMC Combat knife). Depends on the mood I'm in.

Ready for some laughs?

Camillus "U.S." stamped electrician's knife that came out of a triwall full of garbage from DRMO, on my keychain - it was a piece of junk but serves decently with a properly convexed edge. CS Voyager Tanto in my pocket. (I'm a big fan of these. They're nearly Satori-proof and hold a dayumed fine edge for stainless.) HI kerambit in my LBV when I'm wearing it; I like to think of it as a sharpened, shortened wrecking bar with a pommel that can drive nails. (I've tested that.) Kages Katne in my LBV for everything else.

I'm currently doing an endurance test on a Frost Cutlery "Humvee" folder that I got essentially for free; right now, it gets used for everything. It's not as bad as I'd thought it would be for a $1.50 knife. Besides having to sharpen it after each use and not trusting the lock, what's so bad about these?

Most generally my Arclite neck knife lately. More commonly one of my Marble's, My Camillus Cuda in 154 CM, or my Spydy Moran. Me Likey Fixed Blades.:D

SOme how I KNEW you'd be carrying an ITTY BITTY .38 BWAAAA!!!!! GET a REAL man's gun QUackiPuss before ya get in too much Trouble!! HEE! That means a 1911, son!!!

Lately it has been a Schatt & Morgan congress. I got it from Cumberland Knifeworks and it is a limited production one. It has winterbottom bone scales and signature bolsters. The blades are D2. I also carry an A. G. Russel toothpick with smooth natural bone scales it ATS-34 in my coat. Other favorites that make regular rotation are an Eye Brand large stockman in stag with carbon steel and a Case medium stockman in amber bone with CV steel. I am most definately a slipjoint guy. I had a Sebenza and got rid of it. I felt it had no soul. The knife was perfect in it's design and execution but it was not my bag. I don't go for the tactical thing either.

Leatherman in left front pocket. I don't care about his political views. It is a great tool.

KelTec 380 in right front pocket. Yeah, yeah, I SHOULD carry my S&W 44 Mag, but a well-placed 380 will usually take the steam out of a problem. Sometimes I carry a Glock 26.

Practice, pratice, practice or the biggest hand gun you can find is worthless unless the noise scares off the bad guy.

And do your best to avoid problem situations. Walk away if you can. But if you can't, make every shot count.

Maybe I should carry my Kerambit as rice-stealing deterrant.
