What's your EDC? (Bear with me)

Yeah...been a terrible rash of those kinds of incidents here in Alaska lately...

I never appreciated stainless steel rifles until I got so scared lately that I started showering with my .375...

Pocket rotation presently includes: NYNK Cattleman's knife; Queen D-2 Large Stockman; 1963 BSA knife by Imperial (only good one they ever made IMO); 3" Boker stockman; Spyderco Manix. (The Manix is for days in the Country or at Scout functions. Car carries all sorts of tools, including Villager AK.)

Camillus Heat or Dominator most of the time. Lately I have been carring my SOG X-Ray Vision. This winter I have carried my Cuda Maxx 5.5 alot, since every knife I have listed could/would be considered illegal now here in Georgia I carry what I like. And just have to consider the sheeple around me when it comes to use. If I have a coat I keep one in a coat pocket and something else in my pants pocket. Mark

A Laguile that my wife bought me in Carmel, or a Scallion. They both fit in ok with the sheeple on the peninsula. BaaaaaaaaBaaaaaaaaa.

I was cutting something on my lunch plate with the teensy weensy Kershaw and some dumaz guy freaks "Uh, what do you have a KNIFE for?!!"

That reminds me of the time ...

A few years ago I carried right and left handed Spyderco delicas. I was taking my annual first aid refresher course, on company time. I was all dressed up in my suit. I was putting on a splint, and the bandage was too long, so I reached into my pocket, pulled out the delica, opened it as my hand was traveling towards the bandage, snicked through the bandage, and closed the knife as I returned it to my pocket.

About 3 or 4 seconds after my hand had left the knife in my pocket the Red Cross instructor stammered - "He ... He ... He has a knife! And it's sharp!" Everyone in the room turned to look where he was looking (at me) to identify the threat to their lives. I smiled and gestured unobtrusively to display my obviously empty hands to the audience, while explaining that the bandage was too long and I cut it. They looked at the smiling, well dressed guy, with the empty hands, who said he cut a bandage, and the freaking instructor, and concluded the instructor was kind of nuts. Without anyone to feed his anxiety, he just kind of wilted and tried to dissappear. I (almost) felt bad for him.

A Spyderco Persian Is now my constant companion. It replaced my much loved and much abused Native. I've also found that my Bilton slips neatly into the inside vertical pocket of my leather jacket. It seems happy there, so I let it stay.

It's boring, but lately I carry a Benchmade Pika with plain edge. The 440C holds an edge very well, and at around $20 off eBay it's a tool that I'm not afraid to use and abuse. Solid, inexpensive and functional.

As a teacher my work edc is a SAK Cadet - flat enough not to be seen when not in use, useful enough in many situations (cutting paper, driving in loose screws at the overhead-projector, removing pins, making a sandwich etc. (wish it had small scissors).

How do you fine folks carry folders? I find if it's in a pocket the mechanism gets filled with lint and sometimes doesn't open fully. Clipped to a front pocket it gets caught on tables and counters and such.

I carry mine usually in the pocket. When I wear jeans in the "fifth" pocket - as it is so small that it is only used for lighters or small folders - so there is no dust or lint in it.

Yep, sheeple can be a bit annoying. I always get a kick out of answering my customers "Why do you need 2 knives?" question as they see my two pouches on my belt. First, i tell them, "I back them both because I can...perk of being the boss;)" Then i point to the 18 year old wrecking ball...er i mean spirited young man that works for me. Then i show them that one "knife" is a cheap harmless ol' SAK and the other "knife" is a leatherman multitool "with neato pliers" inside. I ask them which knife would they loan to a destructive younth, a 17 dollar SAK or a 70 dollar leatherman. That works for them:)

Also, they usually don't question my motives when i use nothing more than the leatherman and the SAK (and maybe a strap wrench) to take apart, repair, clean, and put back together the pool pump and filter that "the other guy" told them was unfixable:) It's all about the $$$ to people in this field. If using a tarwar would save them 50 bucks then they are going to be all gungho for it. Then again, i live in one of backwooded, pesky "red states" where guns, knives, and family traditons still mean something.
Hmmm, i think this would count as thread hi-jacking:) Sorry.

Bruise.

When I'm wearing work pants there is normally a small pocket inside the right front pocket. Not like a watch pocket in jeans. I believe this was intended to put one's pocket change in to keep it from jingling. If I'm wearing jeans I keep it in the pants pocket on the right side too.

If I'm nekkid I put it beneath me teeth!

OK. Got it -- finally. "Bear with me." "Bear posting." :D

(At least we have had no DUCK problems in this thread. )

Right now (Today) my EDC is a Benchmade Skirmish in right front pocket.
A Leatherman Wave and Coast Luxean LCD light on right hip. In my carry everywhere bag is a 18" MMHW bowie. Usually it is a HI M-43, but this new bowie is sweet!! ;) :D
