What's your EDC knife/knives?

Today:

Right front: Commander - plain edge black t - green handle - black skull clip. Cool looking knife....

Neck carry: La Griffe

Sweatshirt pocket: Mini Commander - black handle - satin finish serrated.

Spyderco Military PE,
Spyderco Blue Rescue SE,
Spyderco Cricket SE,
Spyderco Jester SE on keychain

I carry these every day, for both work and non-work carry. :D  :D ;)

Well lately I've been swapping a few out. Most of the time they are either one of these-

Emerson Commander
Emerson CQC7
Spyderco Tim Wegner PE

and every few days I will swap out to-

Spyderco G-10 Police PE
Spyderco Jess Horn PE Micarta

I'm a coward. I have a lot of knives. I'm always afraid of losing one or damaging it so leave all my nice pricey knives at home and have 4-5 cheapies(under $30-40) that I carry. My latest is a Kershaw vapor I bought at Walmart as a direct result of comments here. However I recently spine whacked it with medium force and it closed right up. I posted a thread on it a few days ago. So now I'm re-evaulating that in the rotation. Its current sub. is a Gerber Ranger I bought on Ebay for $28,that passed the whack test.

I usually carry the following:

Spyderco Military PE - Almost always carry this knife.
Spyderco Matriarch SE - Left side carry. Just for SD.
Gerber Multitool - Have been carrying one for years now. On my second one.

I will usually carry a 3rd folder, whichever one appeals to me that particular day. Lately it's been my Chinook PE or Ayoob SE.

Occasionally I will add my Spyderco Perrin SE instead of the 3rd folder.

Serrated Spyderco Delica w/plastic clip and a Victorinox Cadet. Nothing exotic but they work.

I never go anywhere without my Darrel Ralph Mini-Maxx (4" Talonite):

In civilized areas I also carry a Camillus CUDA Maxx (5-1/2" D-2):

Out in the wild my second blade is my Bob Dozier Texas #6 (5-1/2" D-2):

I just ordered a second sheath for it. I want to see how it carries horizontally.

I do recommend the Camillus CUDA Maxx as an EDC if you live in an area where you can legally carry a blade that size. The Maxx is general-purpose, beautifully made, and built like a tank.

an Old Timer Middleman and an Opinel #8, but when I walked to the liquor store tonight it was just my CRKT M-16-03Z spearpoint. At work my SAK and Gerber tool are never far from me, either.

This depends on where I’m going to go this day ;)
  • SPYDERCO Military with plain edge is sticking in my home jeans rear pocket non-stop for some years and helps me with all cutting tasks around household – from kitchen to garage
  • BENCHMADE Griptilian 551 is my daily urban jeans carry
  • When I travel I usually pack SPYDERCO Delica into my pocket
  • Victorinox small multiblade (I don’t remember what the model it is) is always packed into my photo bag
  • When I’m going to spend some time in especially non-knife-friendly society (traveling to Switzerland for ex.) I equip myself with SPYDERCO Meerkat
  • SPYDERCO Ti-Salsa is also very good choice if I’m not sure about knife regulations where I’m going and at the same time I want my knife to look classy
  • Going formally dressed I always have pretty hard decision between BENCHMADE 940 Osborne, SPYDERCO Bob Lum Chinese and SPYDERCO Peter Herbst
  • Going to some picnic barbecue I would choice between SPYDERCO Fred Perrin Bowie, GERBER Yari and SOG X-42 Field Knife
  • However going into real wilderness I would equip myself with FALLKNIVEN F-1 or SPYDERCO Bill Moran Featherweight
  • If I predict probable need to ruin something I pack SOG PowerLock multitool into belt sheath
I have somewhat more knives and tools but these mentioned are my strong favorites and I use them the most frequently.

Today before going to work:

Protech TR1, DDR Bullnose Maxx, CRK Umfaan, Victorinox X Tool, BM 942 and Kershaw Chive on my keychain

Today at work:

DDR Bullnose Maxx, CRK Umfaan, Victorinox X Tool, MT LCC D/A, TOPS Sparrow Hawke, Kershaw Chive on my keychain and a Z6 Surefire flashlight

Greetings - Well suffice it to say, WOW!! That's a whole bunch of knives. I guess everyoe has their favorite, but like I said early on I love my CRKT's and I have to stick with them. I've owned a few Benchmade and Spyderco knives but CRKT, in my opinion, gives you the most bang for your buck.

Anyway, I finally got my CRKT Navajo in the mail and it's pretty nice. Smooth handle, thin frame, light weight, and nicely designed. My only complaint is that it's a little stiff opening, I may have to take it apart and oil the bearings, but otherwise great. If anyone, has any opinion on what else I can do to smoothen it up, please write or e-mail me. Thanks.

Regards,

......it is a Mike Obenauf large model 2 with S30V blade steel and carbon fiber handles. Also have a Buck Prince in left front pocket and my Al Mar SERE DA in a sheath in my jacket pocket.

I believe I am good to go!!

I too recently got a CRKT Navajo. The action on my is fine, oiling yours should do the trick. I do have two minor complaints though. The first is that when closed the blade is not centered in the knife. It leans to one side, this makes me worry about possible wear issues. The second is a problem I have with many CRKT knives, that they install two thumb studs. I find that the second stud, the one I never use, catches on the top of my pocket when I draw the knife. I find this extremely annoying. I can understand a desire to make the knife ambidexterious. But the Kershaw Vapor (I & II) and Gigand Fred Carter knives are also designed that way and only have one thumb stud. You can move the Gigand stud without and tools. Simply having a stud that could be moved from one side to the other doesn't seem that complex of a design feature. Though I frequently play with a CRKT knife while on the computer and do so left handed. :D Anyone know where I can get really short bolts so that I can remove one of the studs?
