What's your EDC? what do you use it for?

My most frequent edc is a Vic Spirit multitool. I use it for the usual every day cutting tasks (packages, string, plastic ties, etc.) as well as fixing jammed printers, staplers, and other similar stuff at work. It has been getting a lot of use these days assembling toys and things for my one year old daughter too.

I find a multitool to be a more useful edc tool than a knife alone, due to it's versatility, although a dedicated blade is certainly superior for major cutting tasks.

When I'm not carrying the Spirit, I carry a SAK Outrider or a Spyderco Native. I also have a Utili-key or SAK Classic on my key chain. I' going to try edc-ing a new pocket-sized fixed blade with the multitool once the UPS guy brings it.

My current EDC is a small William Henry Kestrel that I use to open everyday type of stuff. Small packages, mail and those ever important candy bar packages!

Just my own thoughts,

I used to EDC on my belt a Leatherman Charge XTi, but last year replaced it with a large Chris Reeve Sebenza with Micarta inlay handles and the Zulu double edged serrations on part of the blade.

Could not be happier with my Sebenza EDC. I sometimes need a screwdriver or pliers when the Leatherman is not around, but in general I only used the serrated and regular blades on my Leatherman on a regular basis.

I know that the Sebenza is out of your immediate price range, but I suggest waiting a little longer to make sure you buy a knife you will be happy with. I waited more than a year to save and justify the extra expense of the Sebenza over other folding knives I was considering. The quality of materials and the precision of assembly certainly make the Sebenza worth the wait.

i could almost just carry a Sebenza and a Prybaby

almost.

+1 But make it a Prybaby XL (extra leverage) with the bend in it that multiplies force. I carry one on my Twistie keychain with a Miller Mod Arc-AAA and a Sebenza in my rear pocket.

My lineup will be this:

SOG tomcat 3
mcusta kasumi
leatherman tti

that should fulfill about all possible needs I could have for a knife

and really, tell me this isnt the sexiest knife you can get for less than 300$*
