What's your fav. blade shape?

I prefer a good recurve design. It tends to put more mass right behind the center of precussion (excellent for hacking), improves the angle of incidence at the impact point (again for hacking), while providing plenty of belly for cutting, and a good sharp point for penetration. The Blackjack Mamba, and Pacific Coast Timba are examples of what I have in mind (but avoid the saw back if you can).

Like Joe Talmadge, I like a *flat* clip point blade(hard to explain) for the tip. I also like a good drop point for utility and practicality.

I also like a good wharncliffe blade for a small gentleman's folder, great for it's extreme point and it also looks cool.

I really like a bowie and then a tanto.

My favorite has to Persian style drop point. A well done blade gives you a good point for penetration, a good belly for slashing cuts, a narrow (not always) blade for light weight. This blade does well in utility cutting as well.

Drop Point with a good belly - because it's the most practical and useful.

Yeah.....Hansen has it right. For most uses, a droppoint is great.
But, from an emotional (aesthetic) point of view, you cannot beat a nice Turkish or Californian clip. IMO, of course.

Doesn't mean I don't have heaps of other styles in my accumulation, though.

Loveless-style drop point. Boring and traditional, but as a hunter and collector of hunting knives, the drop point for me exemplifies the merger of utility, beauty, and art.

Drop point. No practical reason. I just like the look of it. Take care.

Spearpoint, for its ability to attack defenseless cardboard and its symmetrical shape.
