What's your favorite 5" fixed blade?

my fav 5" blade is without a doubt my bud nealy pesh kebz 5" M2 powder coated blade w/a MASS sheath bud made for me, i like it 'cuz its easy to carry&conceal, light, and has a lotta blade to handle ratio, other than the handle rubbing my ribs it carries very well, and is very pointy and sharp too. the M2 steel is excellent and the powder coat wears well too, imho better than most coatings i have tried. doesnt look the best though (the powder coat, kinda "blotchy")

mostly carry my nealy amoeba now though the abbreviated handle doesnt rub my ribs, and it has all the other good qualities the pesh kabz has. blade is a little shorter but plenty long enough.

Ron Leuschen (Little Hen Knives) Cadet, followed by my Mad Dog Arizona Hunter.
Cheapest, best knife I have in that size is a Kumar Karda from Himalayan Imports. Got it as a blem for $30, after some sharpening and polishing, it's a superb cutter and very comfortable.

Well, i have only handled it for a few days without being able to really test it, but a friend of mine brought his SOG X-42 Recondo when we were out hiking a few days for wildlife photography. Nice balance and versatile blade which can take some abuse (which will always happen in the field when you are improvising things). I liked it a lot for the short while i was able to use it. Maybe a bit short for outbacking, but this was not a really 'heavy duty' trip so that was not a big problem.

Had a Dozier Pro Guide and really liked it, but a friend liked it even more so I gave it to him. I'll get another someday, I hope. Anyway, I just checked my inventory and most of my knives are under 5 inches or well over it. I just got a Gene Ingram custom in S30V that I really like. It has a 5 inch kind of puuko type blade. It has replaced my Falkniven S1 on my wading belt.

I have an old Gerber clip point hunter that is just over 5 inches, and is a very nice knife. The blade is a bit thin, but it gets sharp fairly easily, and has a nice grind so it cuts really well. Very comfortable handle, nice finger-choil for detail work.

My Ontario Pilot's Survival knife is also a pretty cool knife for the price. Definately a beater, though.

I love my Busse natural outlaw, had it for about a month and it is good for anything. It would be a little big for sticking if you have something like that in mind. The Busse would probably work better to chop their arm off rather then sticking into...
Along those lines, I would go with the Chris Reeve Green beret knife. I have the 7" model but its also made in the 5" model. I also have a SOG X-42 recondo, and as Shograin said earlier, its a very well made knife. Its also about a quarter of what the other two will cost.
for a do anything knife the Busse is hard to beat.

All are well balanced and comfortable in the hand, you just have to decide if your going to stick it or chop it's arms off....

Bark River Gameskeeper, but they're 4.25 inches not 5. I already have two and one fully paid on backorder.
