whats your favorite blade shape/shapes?

Wharncliff blades do it for me, and trailing points or Persians as well.

Full flat ground drop point, then clip, then upswept

If I had to choose a single favorite blade style it would probably be the modified sheepsfoot. I'm not a huge fan of clip point blades.
Overall I like lots of different knives, just depends on what I'm doing and what mood I'm in.

Wharncliffe or modified wharncliffe for sure. It is interesting that so many people on this thread are also saying the same thing but there are not really that many on the market. My perfect urban knife would be a CRK Mnandi with an Insingo style blade.

sort of like the one on the pohl force foxtrot 1? i just saw the review on edgeobserver and have to say that is a rather enticing shape :D

Spear point, drop point, clip point, leaf, wharncliffe, I like them all. The only ones I don't really care for are tanto's and recurves.

I love hollow grinds on knife blades because of their beauty and because they most often provide a good spine for strength. Next, I like flat grind blades because of their cutting ability. I do think that flat grinds are HIGHLY overrated, but that's my own opinion and not many share it. I despise chisel grind edges because I'm right handed and most CG blades are ground for lefties. This most likely is because they look better with a grind on the left side of the blade.

My favorite blade shapes are clip point and tanto. I also like the spear point on my CRKT M21-04. The recurved blade on my 5.5-inch Cold Steel Voyager is great for self defense, but for looks I like the blade shapes mentioned. Tanto blades are greatly underrated, in my view. People look at the secondary edge and complain that it wears quickly. That may be true if folks cut with it, but I've always instinctively cut with the tip of the blade so I've never had a problem. Plus, I love the looks. On the new Voyagers, the tanto is the only blade with a strong spine and a hollow grind. Unfortunately, it's also the heaviest knife of the bunch, so that's a consideration. In the old model Voyagers, the tanto was my hands down favorite with the clip point nipping at its heels.

A clip point when I have the option. A high saber grind is often a good choice for what I'm doing as well.

My favorite is that "wide-chord drop point" that the Ritter Grips have. Second would be whatever grind the Izula is (love the belly). third is a FFG leaf blade like the UKPK (S30V ones).

I very much enjoy wharncliffes as well, they are also pretty easy to sharpen which is a plus. But it is a personal preference.
