What's your favorite blade shape/tip configuration for a folding EDC?

In lieu of that, what would y'all recommend as an intro to the world of Wharnies? Not to sidetrack this topic too far... :p

If you have the cash to drop, Id say any of William Henry's knives. They are some of the nicest looking wharnies Ive seen. In production blades I like Spyderco's VieleII and Kiwi. I recently traded my Viele and am starting to miss it. I ll probably end up purchasing another one. If you are more of a Benchmade guy, the 921(switchback variation) looks up to snuff. Hope this gives you somewhere to start, good luck finding something you like.

Cheers.

Joe and Aces, thanks for the tips! I have, in fact, been giving the Kiwi and the Caly Jr. some serious looks. Currently, money is an object, but these 2 knives are affordable and seem to be high-quality, from all I've heard about 'em. So, there's some further confirmation for me to check 'em out!

And, nope, I'm not planning on doing any prying with them; I've got a fixed-blade that I'm making myself as a tough edc; the idea behind the folder is that it's super-sharp and able to do fine work. The fixed, while not particularly giant, is the hard-use knife. Now, I've just gotta put some handle scales and an edge on it...

thanks for the tips, guys!
