What's your favorite Byrd, and why?

crossbill here as well. it is fully serrated. I gave it to a friend once just after I bought it and told him to go take down some cardboard at the back. He actually came back out less than a minute in giggling and mumbled something about insanity!
don't you just love it when a non-knife person says something like that?

cheers,
sean

My favorite Byrd is the Cara Cara G10, it's a great utility knife.

But after I got the Meadowlark FRN I'm thinking about getting myself a Cara Cara FRN. The Byrd FRN is high quality!

That's what I did. Cara G-10, Meadowlark G-10 & FRN then Cara FRN.
You won't be sorry. I have since purchased a number of them for various tasks and locations. Pocket clip's a little slopy on the FRN models. But you can work with it.

And the stretch is one I was looking at getting. Looks like I just found the $15 version of it. Sweet!

For those that have the Cara frn and g10 is there a diffirence in weight and or thickness?

3.8 oz for the FRN, and 5.6 oz for the G10. Other than that, and sadly tip up only on the G10 model they are basically the same.

The G10 Cara Cara. I like it's size, and lockback. My regular carry knives are Police 3, Enduras, and Stretch 2. The Cara Cara feels substantial to me.

I liked Caracara (I had plain SS, G-10 and all black SS), but after this (which made the knife useless) I am uncertain about buying another.

I'm surprised there's not as much love for the flight as I though. Ergos are good, especially for an SS model. Clip-esque blade shape, that coveted 3" mark, nice fine point. The SS flight is that knife I ship in my luggage so I don't have to go w/out a blade when flying somewhere. I keep hoping to lose it or break it so that I can get g10 version. I've owned a raven (aluminum handle) and have a g10 cara cara, but can't get over the flight.

I had a byrd FRN Finch that I bought from a local store. The spring fell out the day after I got it.
I mailed it into Spyderco and they replaced it free of charge. The one they sent me I put a convex microbevel on and it cuts like a laser.

For about a month I have been trying to decide what my next inexpensive purchase should be. Right now it is a waved VG-10 endura with another convex microbevel.

You guys dont make it easy to choose..
