Thanks timberweasel! Yes it's a great camping knife. Anodized carbon steel blade (Uddeholm UHB 15LM), thermoplastic handle, scandi grind, zero edge.

A similar knife is made by Frost's of Sweden:

The steel is Uddeholm UHB 20C (1095).

My most used camp knife is without a doubt a 27+ year old Swiss Army Knife. Don't know the name of it, but I think it was the Swiss Champ of it's day - no pliars or pen.
Glad I stepped into the one hand openers, though. Nowadays the Gayle Bradley gets the most use.

My Scrapyard Dogfather and Ritter Griptilian (s30v version)

With these two knives I am ready for anything.

What type of environment are you going camping in? Without that info its hard to give a recommendation.

Will the weight of the knife be of concern ? Something to think about. How large do you want to go ? What will it's expected usage be ? REALLY, there are SOOOOO many good choices here. BK&T BK10, BK9, BK7, BK5, BK2, BK15, BK16, BK14, BK13, BK11. Ontario Spec-Plus SP53, SP51, SP47, SP10, SP8, SP2, SP Kukri, 12" Machete. Mora Bushcraft. BUCK/Tops CSAR-T fixed blade or folder. Victorinox or Cold Steel come to mind.

I say take 3 blades & a small axe & a multi-tool & you will be set for anything---don't forget a first-aid kit. A folder, a med blade, a large blade.

throw in a SAK, and these will do a fine job camping.
Wetterlings small hunter ax, and a beauty from Ray Laconico.

If you had to have only one knife I would go with the KA-BAR Becker BK2. It is a very versatile knife. It can chop(kinda) because of its weight, baton, and do detail work if need be.

Agreed - though it can chop quite well if you hold it by the pommel swell. Chops better than a 5" knife ought to anyway. :)

It's one heck of a multi-role knife. I really like mine.
