aw, heck i was just kidding mike! LYING!
say, what's that on the wall in your avatar???
again, kidding

Voracious - That would be a steelhead trout (sea run rainbow trout), and of course it is swimming into my head, hence - Steelhed. :D I am an avid steelhead fisherman. The one on the wall was a 37 incher, or about 17 pounds.

heh heh. i know.
i'm a steelhead guy myself. never landed a 17 pounder though.
i fish lake ontario tributaries, although here in new jersey we are getting a decent run of sea-run browns and steelies in 2 or 3 rivers. un-freakin-believable!
nice fish.

Voracious - New Jersey?!! I grew up in NJ, near AC. I fished all over that area. Which rivers are getting the sea run browns and steelies? How big? Yeah, the Great Lakes have some pretty good runs. I need to get there and do some fishing one of these days. I usually fish southeast Alaska and do pretty good. My biggest is just under 40 inches and about 22 pounds. I practice catch and release now though, so I don't keep them to have them mounted. The one on my wall is from 1984.

i'm in keyport, by sandy hook. the tom's river is getting sea run brookiesbut spotty documentation.
the MANASQUAN river right up to the resevoir is getting a really good run of browns and steelhead. brown's to 14 lb and steelies to 11 or 12.
seems like the water miraculously cleaned up when the sod farms and golf courses in the area stopped using mercury for grub control.
i have a couple great spots on lake ontario tribs, oak orchard creek and catfish creek. catfish is tiny,, ankle deep in some riffles makes for some really good salmon wrasslin' by moonlight. :)
gun club half mile away with a nice 200 yd range + sporting clays + 1000 acres to hunt for 60 bucks a year...
my retirement destination! (yeah like i'll ever retire)
:)

Thought I was gonna hafta break outa can kids....

60 a year sounds like a great deal. Most around here are 150+ just for indoor ranges... what the heck........
