what's your favorite fiddleback for deer hunting?

What about the KPH? Isn't it supposed to the like THE skinning model in the Fiddleback lineup?

Great choice Hone but I'm not looking for a skinning knife. My Recluse is my go-to but I'd just like to try something new. It's a great reason to have to buy another Fiddleback. :)

That's funny Dave I didn't see that you had bumped this. If you want a shorter blade the BC jr has been catching my eye because of the belly and smaller profile. Good luck this weekend!

Came out of Fiddleback, I use the W.A. Surles Lil'George and my wife is using the Osprey Wharthog. Both are pretty excellent. I like the leaf shape belly. Both are nimble for the job.

Really it is all personal preference. My personal favorite to carry into the woods is a bushfinger. But it is all about what you are comfortable with. I got in a pinch last year and forgot my bushfinger one night. I wound up breaking down a doe with a runt. Not ideal but it worked excellent for a knife of that size. Just about being comfortable with it and your skills breaking them down.
