What's your favorite folder? (With a couple caveats)

Generally speaking, it seems like this forum (CPK specifically) tends to be a group of informed and reasonable individuals. For the most part, it seems that people here typically don't speak nonsense and have opinions that I can easily respect even in cases that I disagree strongly.

I was hoping to hear what everyone's favorite folding knife is and the reasons why. There are a few caveats though. I'd like to exclude CRKs (sebenzas, etc.), shirogorovs, and Koenig arius knives.

So what would be your favorite folder if CRKs, shiros, and the Koenig arius didn't exist? Why that particular knife?

Les George VeCP . Partial to the thumb stud morph milling version on the right .

Amazing fit and finish . Bearing like action on washers . Enough knife for anything IMG_1316.jpeg

If going purely for cool or hard use .. like on my 2 week camping trip …. Any Strider SMF. Right now I’m partial to the Bowie . Warranty is unbeatable . I’ve been beating on an SnG for 15 years

Great question sir. I have always admired the Spartan Harsey Folder (SFH), but haven't pulled the trigger with a purchase. I do own and love the Hinderer XM-18.

Also admired the American made Mcnees folders. Does anyone know anything about these sweet blades?

Just so hard to beat a CRK Sebenza or Inkosi though.

I hate to go so basic, but I am going to go PM2, with the Shaman getting honorable mention.

PM2: enough blade, thin tip, slim carry, doesn't feel small, doesn't feel big. Not crazy expensive. Lots of "just right" there.

Honestly, that's where I'm at. PM2 does about everything I need a finger to do.

I've been eyeing the military 2 crucarta though. Tempting.

The PM2 is such a commonly suggested folder but imo it’s almost perfect for just about everything I need a folder to do.

I thought I would really like the military 2 but to my surprise I didn’t like it very much when I first got my hands on one. I’ll still probably pick one up one of these days because I really like the extra length in the handle and blade but it just doesn’t seem as “nimble” as the PM2.

That said, my main carry is a CRK umnumzaan but it’s not part of the discussion here haha

GB2. Love the steel, comfy in hand, goldilocks size for me.

I own a leatherman wave that's old enough to have an expired warranty. It used to go everywhere with me. I had no hesitation about doing dumb things with it, like cutting 4130 while building bike frames dumb. It's "just" crappy 420, but never let me down. Only issue it ever had was a slightly twisted flathead screwdriver, probably from me unfolding the full length of the handles perpendicular to get better leverage on whatever I was cranking on. Now I just carry a skeletool KB in a pocket because anything heavier than that isn't really justified for sedentary office jobs, but the leatherman still gets used around the house.

I carry a PM2 or Military daily. Tip down in the front of my back right pocket. This allows me to carry a utility knife my front pocket. I use the utility knife a lot at work.
After work I switch it up. My new favorite is this Hinderer XM18 3.5 Auto. IMG_5259.jpeg
Why? Super fun to play with. Rock solid lock up. Jimping in all the right places. Locks in my hand.
