What's your favorite folder?

Hard to beat a CS Voyager for that kind of money. AUS-8 might seem like a lackluster choice in blade steel, but the heat treat makes the steel more than serviceable IMHO, and it offers adequate edge retention, while being quite easy to sharpen. The Triad lock is a treat too, and really makes the knife a great deal IMO. One of the stoutest locks I've ever felt on a production folder.

For under $50: Kershaw Skyline
For right at $50: Spyderco Salt I. (You'll need a sharpener though because while corrosion-proof, H1 looses its edge quicker than the Sandvik steel on the Skyline. It really is RUST-PROOF!)

For $50 and under the Cold Steel voyager series. Tough reliable folders that won't let you down. Available in various sizes and designs.

Of the "currently" available production folders the Benchmade Contego is an awesome knife. One of the better knives I've seen from Benchmade in a while. Great steel, strong, reliable, pleasure to use AXIS lock and overall extremely well made. It can take whatever you throw at it and for about $128 retail one of the better knives you'll find in my opinion.

Best of luck!

I decided to get a kershaw one ton. beefy blade and it looks like it can take some abuse. it's gonna be my next knife.

Let us know how you like it. Kershaw has a lot of knives in the catalog, and I've been happy with the ones that I have.
