What's your favorite kind of production knife to collect?

My first ones were SAK for many years, then a spyderco police, followed by a spyderco hunter, they hadn't started using the injection molded handles yet.

EDIT: your post said "collect". So to clarify I am a knife user not a collector. Maybe i shouldn't have posted.

I jump around a lot. I collect (in no particular order):

Spyderco
Case
Buck
Benchmade
Kershaw
GEC
Queen/ Schatt & Morgan
Busse/ Swamp Rat/ Scrap Yard
Bark River
ESEE
Machetes (Imacasa, Condor, Collins etc.)
Chris Reeve

The most I have, by number, would be Spyderco. Followed by Case, then Benchmade, Buck, GEC and the rest. By dollar value, probably still Spyderco, then Busse. Whenever I feel like I have enough knives, I just switch brands, and repeat as necessary. I'm back on the Spyderco kick at the moment. All of the companies above make great knives.

I am more into multitools and SAK's than single bladed knives, so these form the biggest part of my collection/accumulation, but I am also interested in traditional European knives.

Not much of a collection...yet. Kershaws got me started down this dark road. ;)

4 Kershaws
1 Victorinox SAK
1 Schrade/Uncle Henry 3-blade
1 Gerber E-Z-Out (unknown model...cheap at Walmart)

Since finding this madhouse, I have added a BM Griptillian, a Spyderco Delica or Persistence, and an ESEE Izula to my wish list.

ive never made it a point to collect a specific brand, but due to their usefullness ive managed to collect mostly Buck and Benchmade. i would really like to get into Case knives, they make some real lookers

2 Fallkniven...like 'em but can't afford 'em.
3 Barkies...love 'em but they don't sell folders...yet.
3 Old Timers...just won them
5 Queen...soon to be 6.
3 Spyderco...was 4 by I sold my D'Allara (great knife!)
1 Boker
2 Case
1 Rough Rider
1 Schrade
1 Buck
1 Mora

I, too, am an eclectic accumulator. I like them all. I am a steel snob, and I find that I prefer folders to fixed, and have no preference to locking or non-locking. Fancy handles are a weakness...especially burls and stag!

Well, if it's fixed, it's Randall. If it is a folder, no one company seems to dominate. Guess I gotta work on the folder collection!

Right now, I have more Buck knives then anything else (the 110).

Although I'm thinking of getting a few Spyderco knives. I used to have an old Harpy in ATS-55 and I stupidly sold it. I think I'll rectify that soon though.

I collect folders, lobsters, and exchangers. Brands include Buck, SAK, Boker, Benchmade, Spyderco, Camillus, William Henry, Chris Reeve, Microtech, CEM, David Boye, Darrel Ralph, Gerber, CRKT, Puma, and a few others. Are we having fun yet?!

As of this minute I'm enjoying collecting Benchmade most followed by Spyderco. By sheer number of knives Kershaw leads by a looong shot. My focus is however now starting to include small fixed blades. (BRKT, Fallkniven, Busse)

I should add that the reason I have so many more Kershaws than anything else is because I've worked for a Kershaw dealer the last 2 years and get them for basically nothing! And I do enjoy collecting them as well, dollar per dollar I think Kershaws offer the most.

20 years ago my answer would have been Gerber, Buck and Cold Steel, all as users. These days, either a Spyderco or Kershaw is always clipped to the RF pocket, with a Case or GEC mingling down with my keys.
