What's your favorite Millie

The Military is not a knife that suits me, but I have an orange one anyways (It IS handy for wintertime use with gloves on), and would probably spring for a CPM-D2 one given the opportunity, to match my Para.

Just like I said to Sal years ago, he probably doesn't even remember but it was when Spyderco was an 'all stainless company' (his words) and I said in reply to that, too bad, well when you change your mind and do come out with a carbon blade model I'll buy one. I never even owned a Military until the M4 and its still the only one worth having in my book! I'd just as soon have my Para 2 in that steel over what it is (S30V which is fine don't get me wrong) or another of the more nostalgic choices for blade steels that build character with age and use but I just favor the patina. Some good looking ones shown here by the way. Not as nice as mine but not bad! :D

While we are on the subject....

I have had an XHP, S30V, 2 M390 and now a Cruwear. Of all of them the new Cruwear is much more smooth than I remember the others being and directly compared to the S30V.

This one glides, almost feels like it is on Teflon washers instead of phosphor bronze, even though it is.

Anyone know of any changes they have made recently? I know the military has a long history of small changes and improvements over time.

It is it just me? "

As someone that doesn't own a Military, the M4 with the G-10/Ti scales is the most lust-worthy one in my eyes.

I thought that until I got one and decided the carbon fiber is the way to go. Brilliant knife, but carbon fiber is better imho :D

This one.

OMG that burrito broke your Millies blade in half! Should have used a M4 blade :D

I'll always have a soft spot for the BG42 CF model, that's my pick.

Triple quench w/cheese hamon,an old hispanic heat treat technique :D

This was one of the nicest Militaries I had, and it was just made up of extra parts from my transplants. DLC'd blade from a digicam, and the CF handle from the M390. Changed to black T8 screws and standoffs, et voila. I didn't use it though, since I really like the added heft of Ti, and ended up trading it away.

I find myself carrying my CF/Ti M390 FrankenMillie 6 days out of 7

but in a pinch, any of these would serve :)

OK I need some help here. I've been on a millie buying frenzy the last few weeks. First I got a franken-millie gray g10 w/ s30v blade off the exchange and it got me hooked. I have since bought a titanium and a fluted titanium version, and last night I bought a s90v blue millie off of the exchange.

I am thinking about blade swapping the fluted titanium model and giving it the s90v blade. Good or bad idea? I really don't want to mess up something that nice.

If you could choose a blade to go into the fluted scales what would it be? I grabbed the s90v to put that in but now I am considering m390. Thoughts?

I have had mixed results with blade swaps. My smooth Ti is a fantastic fit for my Cruwear blade. I haven't been so lucky with my M390 blade. I tried to switch my M390 into another Millie and had "rock lock". I ended up switching it back. I think the specs are close enough that many times it will work, I just didn't like the M390 swap. I love my Ti/Cruwear combo though. I guess I'm saying: try it out. If it works, awesome. If not, switch it back. You're not out anything. :)

Edited to add: disassembly will void your warranty, so it would be irresponsible of me not to mention that. If you want to try it out, keep that tidbit in mind. I don't want to give you any ideas without the disclaimer that you are voiding your warranty by taking your Millie apart.
